My favorite part was when Ilan thought he was more forgiving than Marcel.

That and Elia, who needs a scarlet letter of some sort so no one else will be suckered into believing she's their friend.

I didn't watch Top Chef, but Jeffrey actually deserved to win based on his talent, regardless of what he was like.

I'll agree with that, but Ilan didn't. Unlike Jeffrey, Ilan's been making the same Spanish crap all season long, most of which sounds as if he got the recipes from the boss at the restaurant he works in. Jeffrey was original, Ilan isn't.

And also unlike Jeffrey, whose major crime was just making someone's mom cry, Ilan held a camera on someone's physical assault. The only reason he wasn't rightfully eliminated was because he didn't put his hands on Marcel, and his win is just creepy.

It would be one thing if he had talent to back it up like Jeffrey did. But Sam was way more talented than Ilan is (hell, Cliff and Elia were both more talented than him), and as creepy as Sam laughing during Marcel's assault was, he wasn't the one HOLDING THE FUCKING CAMERA.

I belive the word: Aaaaargh! properly summarizes my feelings on the finale. Haaaate.

So, basically, Marcel is more cutting edge, takes more risks, as opposed to Ilan, who does the same thing (granted, very well, but still...). And Ilan's the Top Chef? Um. No. Sorry.

I did love the little slam from the judgues, though. "We feel that one of you may go on to be a superior chef, however..."

But ugh.

Yeah, it's like I said earlier -- Jeffrey on Project Runway at least had talent to back up being a dick. Yes, he is an ass, but the man can design a kickass dress. (I still want that green striped one with the zippers. *covets*)

I don't buy that Ilan is a better chef than Marcel, or Sam, or Cliff, or Elia. I don't care how many challenges the man's won -- a lot of his stuff is already being served at the restaurant where he works. I believe that Marcel came up with his meals on the fly at the marketplace, but I think Ilan saying the same thing is a pile of bullshit.
