Dear Jennifer Hudson ... THIS is what you do when you're the favorite in your category. My God, Helen Mirren looks faaaaabulous. Dude, I am in mad passionate love with that dress and she is fucking WORKING it. And the hair ... I mean, I think I want to blame Helen Mirren for any desire I might have for all of my hair to go gray. Didn't she win some sort of Sexiest Woman Over Sixty poll? Because, seriously. LOOK AT THE PRETTY.



I don't know what it is I don't like about this dress. I mean, it's a perfectly lovely, well-fitted dress. I think it might be what it does to her shoulders. Or maybe it's the fact that while the hair matches the outfit I loathe it on her.



The wide angle makes the lipstick look questionable, but the close-up photos really bring out both the details of the dress and the contrast between her dark makeup and coloring and the paleness of her skin.

I didn't like the fabric on this dress... The cut, the color, the rest of it? Very nice. But the fabric looked... cheap somehow.

And JLo's dress was... gods, I don't even know what, but it seemed... ugh.

Jennifer Lopez's dress just ... I think it's the strands of rhinestones or whatever the hell they are that aren't doing it for me. The way the neckline ends up sitting takes away any definition in her shoulders and makes it look like she's slumping.

Helen Mirren is one of those people, like Judi Dench, who makes me look forward to being over sixty. Because they both always look absolutely amazingly hot and I live in hope that, as soon as I hit sixty, I'll miraculously start looking hot.

Urg, I think the stuff around the neck is what's ruining Jennifer's dress. I love that kind of material but the dress's lines...I don't know, it just seems terribly cluttered up top when it shuoldn't be.

But oh *WOW* Helen - now *THAT* is an Oscar dress!
