Man, I wish I were you right now. I'm irritated by the mass-exodus posts and links-ahoy posts and whatnot, and yet I don't stop reading. *smacks forehead*
While I don't have a bb to edit, I am heartily sick of reading about the Strikeout and would like to take a vacation to a different part of the internets that is like this one but different. Namely it has all my friends but people have brains, and when people turn out not to have brains we send them to a special school for people with special needs and get on with our lives.
Oh, here's hoping. I'd like to see smut again. That would be DIVINE. *beams*
Heh. Well, usually I have a really bad habit of tossing random stories onto the net without having them beta-ed, but for challenges and ficathons I make damn sure at least one person goes over it well, especially if it's an assignment for someone else. I mean, it's practically a present -- I want it to look faaaaabulous. :)
Plus, you know, smutty smut and the longest Jsquared fic I've ever written, so I'm paranoid.
I KNOW. Oh, man, of all the things that pissed me off about that interview that was the one that irritated me the most. Like, "What community you BUILT? Is it like the fannish equivalent of the shiny soulless housing development going up on the land next to the homey small town where everybody knows everybody else and they all think you're a tool? That community?"
Ha, the post I linked to by accident actually made sense, that's a miracle. I didn't need to delete the comment...usually when I muck up like that I accidentally send a real life friend a smut fic link instead of a link to a homework assignment...
But anyway, yeah, that pisses me off, too. Yay for SixApart. *eyeroll*
I think it's more like the highway being built, leaving the small town out of business. Sort of like 'Cars'...
Dude, what I need is to write some damn smut. Maybe tomorrow, when my Bigbang is completely and totally 100% finished and I can focus on boykissing properly. Hmph.
Yes, shiny and grammatical! And either hilariously funny or deep and moving or ... you know, GOOD.
Thanks! :) I think I'm mostly paranoid because watching Jared and Jensen in interviews makes me uncomfortable and I can't watch, so I keep worrying that I'm writing, like, the fannish versions of them rather than a more realistic version of them. (Then again, it's costumed superhero versions of them that culminates in lots of sex, so I don't think realism is really my friend here. ;))
As for realism vs. fannish perspectives, it's not as if the recipient will have any better realistic knowledge of them than you do (most likely), so at least it's a shared sort of slippage.
Strikeout and Strikethrough are the two that I've seen and ... dude, seriously, I'm just annoyed it's called anything at all. And that instead of seeing smut and fic and fannish show comments and everybody talking about their day like normal this is ALL I'm seeing on my friends list.

Date: 2007-05-31 05:48 am (UTC)Maybe people will start writing lots of smut in protest?
Also, you're a stronger woman than I am for actually editing things. Many kudos to you1

Date: 2007-05-31 05:56 am (UTC)Understandable! I get challenge stuff betaed too. It has to be shiny! And grammatical! And not too dramatic, etc.
I understand that your fic is fabulous anyway! So I would not be too paranoid.
