So, my opinions of the performances of the final four.
Cas Haley:
1. "Can't Help Falling In Love With You" -- Good performance. Not great, but good enough.
2. "Sir Duke" -- One of his better performances, I thought. He was really having a good time on stage, I'll give him that.
Here's the thing. I think Cas is going to come in second, after Terry Fator. But since I think he's got a damn fine chance of getting a record deal now, I don't think not winning the million will really be that much of a problem. (God knows I'll buy the damn thing. :))
Butterscotch:
1. "What's Going On" -- Meh. It was okay. It just wasn't all that exciting a performance for me. And she continues to do one thing that drives me up a wall. I just want to reach through my TV screen, grab her shoulders, and yell, "STAND UP STRAIGHT, DAMN IT!" Seriously, girl, posture. Quit the hunching.
2. Beatboxing "Dance To The Music" -- Much better than the earlier performance. I was waiting for actual singing to kick in but I'll take what I can get, and what she did was very good.
Terry Fator:
1. "Friends In Low Places" -- HA! I knew he'd get to use that cowboy puppet eventually. And it was a really great rendition of Garth Brooks. Outstanding.
2. "Cryin'" -- See, this is why I think he's going to win it all next week. It was a dead-on impression of Roy Orbison, it was ventriloquism, AND it was some of the best singing if not THE best singing on the stage tonight. He does three things at the same time and he does them very well.
Julienne Irwin:
1. Uh, whatever that Rascal Flatts song was -- Ugh. I just don't like her. Aside from the country thing, which isn't something I normally like, she's somebody who was singing into her hairbrush in front of the mirror just a few short months ago (supposedly, in any event) and it shows. She needs training, and she needs to stop making those faces when she sings.
2. "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" -- I'm sorry, I'd rather watch the six-year-old from Britain sing it.
