Oh, c'mon, don't be downhearted. Books like that are useful. You can use them to prop open doors, and get things down from high shelves, and squash really, really big bugs.

If you get really bored, you can also read them.
But that's pretty much a last resort, for when your TV blows up and the Web goes down and all your friends move to Nebraska and the dog turns savage. Keep the possibility in mind, though.
