1. What did you do in 2003 that you'd never done before?
Get tattooed! It's so much more fun than I ever thought it would be. It's my new addiction I definitely I can't afford.

2. Did you keep your new years' resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Well, I'm still alive, so I kept last year's. This year, I think I shall resolve to get published and get laid, not necessarily in that order.

3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
Yup, my uncle had his first baby. (Well, he wasn't the one who gave birth, but you get the picture.) See? *user waves her adorable baby cousin Erin in people's faces*

4. Did anyone close to you die?
Nope. Although my dad's cat Rudy isn't holding up too well and might not make it. I wouldn't be surprised if he waits until Christmas is over and just passes away in his sleep. He's always been a Christmas kitty.

5. What countries did you visit?
None.

6. What would you like to have in 2004 that you lacked in 2003?
Money, fame, sex. The usual.

7. What date from 2003 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Moving out of my parents's house. (Although I can't remember the exact date, but look at me! I'm a grownup!)

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Yeah, that moving out thing. And leaving the state in the process counts, too.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Another year, another shelf in the bookstore that should have my name on it.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Well, I threw out my back twice. That works.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
My LOTR tat. I adore it.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Everyone I know seems to have deserved celebration at least once in the past year.

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
He's doofy, lives in a big white house, and looks like the love child of Alfred E. Neuman and a chimp. You have three guesses.

14. Where did most of your money go?
Away. Far, far away to the land of Big Girl Obligations.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Jake 2.0, tattoos, Queer Eye, Chip and Reichen from Amazing Race, LiveJournal, politics (unfortunately).

16. What song will always remind you of 2003?
Kazzer, Pedal to the Medal

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier, definitely.
ii. thinner or fatter? Same.
iii. richer or poorer? Oh, God, am I poor.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
The male cast of LOTR.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Procrastinating.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Wondering when my parents will stop gossiping about my other relatives, hanging with Bryan, and hopefully wondering how I'll be getting a desktop back to Virginia.

22. Did you fall in love in 2003?
Unfortunately, no.

23. How many one-night stands?
I know not of that you speak of.

24. What was your favorite TV program?
It's a tie between Jake and QE. In fact, if the QE gang came on an episode of Jake 2.0 and redid my adorable studly little geekboy, I'd die happy.

And apparently from plotbunny nibbles, as I'm now surrounded by snotty little upstart hares with cigars and baseball bats who want me to write that crossover.

*wallops an approaching bunny* Bugger off, you twits. We're trying to get published, remember?!

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I wouldn't call it hate, per se, but quite obviously, I didn't even know Captain Asshat existed last year.

26. What was the best book you read?
One of Jim Butcher's books. Won't say which one, but I will say, WOW.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Evanescence. Yes, they're overplayed now. No, I don't care.

28. What did you want and get?
Five hours in a car between me and the parental units.

29. What did you want and not get?
A magic purse that contains however much money I need to pay for whatever I have to, Keira Knightley's genetic makeup, Christopher Gorham as my personal love slave, and Pez. Cherry Pez.

30. What was your favorite film of this year?
I have to pick just one?! Well, I haven't been to ROTK yet, but a short list ... Lost in Translation, Finding Nemo, X2, Terminator 3, Bend It Like Beckham, Whale Rider, The Last Samurai, Master and Commander, Pirates of the Caribbean, Love Actually, Bad Santa, School of Rock ... okay, so maybe not that short.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I was 26, and I ... uh, I think I went to work, then came home and declared, "My bed, it is of the good."

32.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
It'd be nice to date again. *sighs*

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2003?
Look! I'm not naked! Are you satisfied?

34. What kept you sane?
That question implies I started the year sane, now, doesn't it?

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Chris Gorham has become my why-can't-I-find-a-guy-like-that crush.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Gay marriage, the war in Iraq, the lousy economy ... basically every dumb move this administration has made.

37. Who did you miss?
Scott. As for famous people, let's put it this way -- the other day, I flipped onto AMC just in time for an In Memorium reel of all the greats Hollywood lost this year. I should never be allowed to watch these, because I'm in tears as soon as the title card pops up. And who would ever have thought I'd get so weepy over John Ritter? Dude, every time I see him anymore, I tear up.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Erin, the little cutie.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2003
Not as many people buy blatant bullshit as you'd think.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year
Why not just play the QE theme song and leave it at that?

Do you realize that since he went to an Ivy League school, where the lowest grade was a C, that he might very well have failed out?

Are you naked often enough that this warrants comment?
