It's also not unusual for parents to arrange a marriage when one or both parties are still infants, or for an elder of the church to talk to a father about a possible husband for a girl of sixteen to nineteen. The girl gets very little say in the matter; the presumption is that God is acting through the father and the elder for the girl's benefit.
