I committed commerce therapy over the internet because I like getting stuff in the mail and I'm waiting on, like, five packages and they're not here and I WANT THEM DAMN IT.

How much you want to bet they all show up the same damn day instead of spreading themselves out like I'd like so I get a present every day for a week or so? Hmph.

God, I'm such a child. GIMME MY TOOOOOOOYS. *grabbyhands*

(I really should have made a note to the girl I ordered fingerless gloves from on Etsy that I'd give her extra to ship them faster so I can have them for Parade Day on Saturday, but I can survive the barhopping without them. And I wasn't going to get them, but they're cheap, I've always wanted a pair, I like the colors, and I'm going to need fingerless gloves when I become a professional hobo.)

I committed more commerce therapy than I should have this weekend.

I didn't even have a reason to. I just wanted new toys.

There are certain collectible cards I have coveted for ages. I finally said screw it and bought the ones I didn't have.

So, I'm impatiently waiting for them to arrive.

I just needed a pick-me-up, you know? And with the severance and vacation pay and unemployment, I can spend a little to make myself feel better about being a jobless loser.

But now I'm waiting and waiting and WAITING, and most of the tracking numbers I have are barely updated or won't load.

I want to go sit at the post office and pout, honestly. :(

Yeah, I've been there.

The waiting is the hardest part; just ask Tom Petty.

I am stalking a small Amazon order for a movie and a PS2 game. Where I am is within 50 miles of the Lexington distribution hub, so this address tends to get things a bit faster by mail than other areas served by this hub. Plus the items were both in stock, so I figured I'd beat the projected 3/12 mailing by a day or two and maybe even have it by then (Thursday).

As of today, they were still on track to ship that day, and not before. This caused a bit of 'now-now-now grabbyhands' on my part this morning.

Crap. Patience is just not my thing. The order was pulled for prep, I could just drive to the darn center and get it from them before they'd even get it in the mail. But that's not how they roll.

Oh, yeah, there's that whole checking the mail excitedly each day and then finding three packages in the box at once after a week of nothing. I've had that before. Maddening.

At least commerce therapy works just as well for cheap purchases as for pricey ones. I decided there's a particular shade of deep emerald green I want to do this one sock pattern in (since it's called Absinthe), so I've been visiting various yarn sites browsing around looking for exactly what I want, dragging the process out before I commit to buying any one skein.

And never regret fingerless gloves. They're great for typing in, too -- many a time I've pulled out half-fingered gloves or mitts on a wintry day when the office heat wasn't up quite high enough, and then there are the heating issues in my bedroom at home...
