Oh, my God, you guys, I am SO FUCKING ANTSY right now.

So I tallied up all of the votes so far for apocalyptothon fandoms and I don't want to show my hand but oh, MAN, I want to post this as is ... almost. There's some fandoms on this list that I never would have seen coming but which I'm so glad are locks at this point, and then there's a bunch on the bubble that I'm really rooting for. And we may, for once, have an anime fandom this year, which would be awesome because I don't think we ever have. (It's probably due to the ginormous race wank its movie adaptation was involved in. HINT HINT.)

Anyway.

If you haven't voted yet, or you have friends who haven't voted yet and there are fandoms you want to make sure are involved (like, say, Watchmen or Avatar: The Last Airbender or the Fast and the Furious and Die Hard movies or Tne Princess Bride and yes, I'm seriously about all of those being actual on-the-bubble contenders, among others), GO VOTE!

(Don't mind the current lack of comments. I've been deleting as I tally to make sure I'm getting them all.)

btw, I asked in the suggestion thread, but that probably wasn't the best place for it - are you still needing apocalyptic minions to help you with managing the pinch hitters and whatnot? I used to run ficathons in SGA and a few other fandoms, so I've had some experience, if you need a helper

Haha, I can't believe Watchmen's that high up, I voted as a bit of a joke! I wonder how one would go writing about the apocalypse for that verse.... sadly, two of my three favorite characters are dead, so they'd be out of any story. :( (Jeffrey Deannnnnn!) I'd love to see Adrian dealing with the apocalypse though. Mmmmm.

Heh. Well, to be fair, I keep letting Terminator/Sarah Connor Chronicles and BSG in and they're got an apocalypse in the canon, so the rule is as long as the apocalypse isn't THAT one, I let it slide. :)

I'm more talking about what characters you would write about, since it would necessarily have to occur after the end of canon. I can actually see very interesting potential for the cause of the apocalypse itself, but I wouldn't be particularly interested unless certain characters were brought back from the dead! I suppose you could do an AU that throws canon completely on its head?

Nah, part of the fun of this is that you're encouraged to mix things up. Have the Russians drop the Big One early! Have Adrian's plans backfire horribly --- maybe instead of bad dreams the squidbomb gives psychics Reaver-level insanity, or the movieverse Manhattan-bomb somehow creates a zombie plague. Heck, set the End during the Minutemen era! The sky's the limit.:)

I just realized that you meant Avatar as the anime. Which makes sense, but didn't cross my brain the first time I read the post.

Hmmm....I would love to see Toph (icon) marching across a wasted Earth Kingdom throwing boulders at zombies and opening sink-holes for an army of Uruk-hai. Or maybe there's been a flood, a tsunami of global proportions, and the Water Tribe[s] sail around on their ninja trimarans picking up their flailing fascist former-oppressor Fire Nationers, laughing at the ones who haven't learned to doggy paddle in full armor.
