Okay, here's what I'm going to do.

I'm stopping the novel I started for NaNo.

I'm going to try to finish The Grand Prize Winner by the end of the month instead.

I only have half of the book to finish, it's all sketched out and every chapter has already been set out. All I have to do is settle in the next three weeks, get at least one chapter finished every day I have off, and I can finish the damn thing.

So why the fuck not?



I still have a page and a half to type up and then I have to take a nap before work.

Aw, that's just MEAN.

My boss just called to offer me a layoff for this week of work. Which I would have totally taken if it hadn't meant I'd lose two hundred bucks in the process.

Hopefully I'll get another offer next week when our thirty-six hour pay periods roll around, because I don't see a lot of people taking a layoff right now when we just had overtime this weekend and this week is a bigger pay period. On the downside, this means I highly doubt there will be overtime this upcoming four days off. On the plus side, that means I can't take any goddamn overtime and make another dent in my writing time. :)

That's disappointing, though, because I would have totally sat down tonight and set about starting my Yuletide. Oh, well, I can certainly work on that next week.

My word count on "The Grand Prize Winner"

I still have a half of a page to type up and then I get to start finishing chapters. I have a feeling that I'm going to be doing a metric assload of editing when I'm done but as long as I get done I don't care. I can totally do this in three weeks (especially if I luck out and get a layoff next week). \o/
