"America's Got Talent", the morning after

Okay, last night's sucked, even for an episode of this show. However, there was one performance that was miles and away the best performance of the night, so here you go.

I hate my life.

Somebody tell me what to write before I burst into tears and break out the booze.

Elliot wanted to check his email, but his paws just wouldn't reach the keyboard.

Heh.

This one time, I took my brother to the movies and forgot to lock my car doors. Nothing happened, but before we got in the car I said jokingly, "Boy, I hope nobody stole my CD mixes."

With a completely straight face, my brother said, "Oh, that's okay. If they're dumb enough to want your music, they're clearly asking for it."

I mention this just because in the past two days I've been cramming my MP3 player with Loreena McKennitt, bhangra, and after that ... African dance!

I'd love for somebody to steal this thing and listen to it. I can't imagine a lot of thieves have a hard-on for world music.

If there's one thing I like about tonight's AGT ...

... it's that I'm still doing pretty well on my odds. They put the Fab Five (no surprise), the Voices of Glory (again, no surprise), and the Texas Tenors (only a little surprised because of the cheesiness of "I'm Proud To Be An American") through to the next round. I'm positive Paradizo Dance is a lock, which leaves -- as far as I see it -- either SQ Entertainment or Charles Dewayne for the other slot. I tilt towards Charles, but we'll see.

Also, Penn and Teller are hilarious, but you knew this already.

Also also, is the audience filled with SQ Entertainment's family or is that just one loud guy? Sheesh.

... WHAT. o.O Piers looks like he wants to punch someone in the face. A LOT.

Quick question for you fic writers -- the crack fic challenge with the chart of prompts ... where was that again? I can't recall the name of the comm and I want to use it for writing stuff.

I'm also going to hit Borders tomorrow and rummage for inspiration. We'll see how that works. I'm going to the place where the books live! \o/

I can't begin to describe how sick I am of having to use my RaceFail "Yeah, whatever, white boy" Twilight icon as much as I have lately.

Dear world Internet no, I was right the first time, WORLD, please stop sucking on race issues. Urgh.

Today I was talking to my mom about the newspaper gig, which I told her pays $8 an hour plus bonuses every week, and she started telling me that if I do the math and without the bonuses or partial UC I can't afford it, I shouldn't take it.

My mom, the one who's continually on me about which companies I've applied with and if I've had any bites, is advising me to back off a job.

I'm maybe a little stunned by this development. Although she's right, but still. It's just odd, coming from her.
