I don't think that the public has a right to know about a politician's personal or romantic life unless the personal or romantic life in question impacts their job performance, or should impact their job performance but doesn't due to an appalling display of hypocrisy.

For example, if they get the person they're having an affair with a job in their office, the public should know. If they're cheating on their wives while lauding "the sanctity of marriage" and screwing same-sex partnerships out of marriage rights, the public should know. If they've got the balls to support abstinence-only education and their teenage daughter's knocked up, the public should know.

I still haven't gotten a call from work to come in, and I can't come in again until they call. I have a sneaking suspicion I won't get a call in time to come in today, which is probably a good thing since I still have to run to the gym for the first time in something like a week.

And hey, it smells like spring out! Granted, there's still a foot and a half of snow on the ground, but it's not going to last very long considering the sun's out and it's fairly warm out.

Ugh.

Is it just my shitty cable that's making AI skip and jump, or is everybody's feed doing that? 'Cause, YUCK. Apparently the boys are doing better this week but I can't fucking see it.

(Never mind! It's working again!)

Also, is it blasphemous that I think Ellen is doing a really great job?

Work called me at nine-thirty today and told me to come down to fill out new-hire paperwork. And I said, "Will I be working today?" and they said, "Oh, no, you'll start tomorrow," so I grabbed my cell phone and ID and drove down and got the paperwork and the HR lady was all, "Oh, no, you're starting today," so instead of having Heroine Addiction to work on or my MP3 players to listen to or anything to read I sat there the entire day bored out of my fucking mind.

But I'm permanent! Woohoo!

Over on [livejournal.com profile] spn_j2_bigbang they asked us to post a few sentences or two from what we're working on, so I posted this:

The Roadhouse has never cleaned up pretty. It cleans up homely and cautious and rough-tough-tumble. Even washed and scrubbed, Ellen thinks of well-worn steel-toes and yard-sale rolltop desks left out in the rain.

Just like the rest of what I've got, it needs tweaking, but I just really like that part. :)

My goal for March is to write something every day. Doesn't matter if I write one word or a thousand, but I'm going to try to add words to at least two different WIPs every day this month.

It's a small goal, but I didn't write anything in February and I want to do better than that this month. Hmph.

It was warm today! Okay, warmer than it has been, anyway, and it's supposed to keep getting warmer. I SEE SPRING, YOU GUYS.
