So I've spent the past two days in the company of various relatives and family friends and whatnot -- this year's round of "How long will it take one of my family to say something vaguely or blatantly racist?" managed to last right up until my uncle called a black guy on TV a jellybean all the way at the end of last night, which is a major achievement for my family -- and I'd have to say that the most interesting happenings all weekend long have been my mom's two cousins and their Bad Marriage Dramas.
(Neither of which I'm supposed to know about, really, but suffice it to say that if they're both still married when Christmas rolls around, I'll be shocked.)
In any event, it is Sunday and I don't have to work at either job today. In fact I've finally, FINALLY got a work schedule for this week that looks the way it's supposed to. Eleven a.m. to seven-thirty p.m. at my day job every weekday, and 8:00-1:00 a.m. at Wegmans on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I think my boss finally realized that I spend the last hour or so of my shift trying to stretch out what was left of my work as much as possible. This is good, though. If this schedule can just hold up for a while, I'll be able to get back on track mentally for writing and a social life and whatnot.
Speaking of writing, I haven't been able to get my
vampirebigbang written nor GPW edited by today like I wanted. Bah.
However, things that have been accomplished:
-- Replacing my crappy MP3 player with something highly discounted with some disk space on it that plays videos and hold all my audiobooks, woohoo! And I found a new case for a buck (minus shipping, of course) on Amazon.
-- I had a funnel cake for breakfast yesterday. That was all I really wanted out of this year's Old Home Week. Mmmm.
-- I picked up hair dye today to fix the current color, which is sort of a washed-out disaster.
-- I put the garbage out on Friday and the skunk didn't go after it!
-- I have enough left over after the last few days to get Chinese food for dinner tonight. Except, uh, it's pouring rain right now and it doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon. *pouts*
