apocalypsos: (i agree with lacey's BISH PLZ)
So my netbook has currently decided that it has no memory left. At all. And that now it's just not going to work at all.

Restoring it to factory settings apparently isn't an option unless I can get my hands on an external disc drive, which my dad might have, but we'll have to see. I know there's an internal way of restoring it to factory settings but the website and the forums I've checked don't have the answer, I can't remember how to do it, and thanks to being out of the warranty Dell's phone support won't tell me how to without charging me however much they charge.

So ... yeah. It's probably not long for this world.

To be fair, I'm really hoping I can get a new one before school starts. Either I want to buy one with my overtime, or ask Santa for a new one, or ... hell, I don't know. I can bring my laptop with me to school, God knows, but I'd rather have one that's a bit more portable. (Yeah, yeah, it's a laptop. It's also not the computer which can fit into any of my purses save the teeny-tiny one I take to the bar.)

There's always writing out my notes and things, of course, but my handwriting can get absolutely atrocious after a while and I can clearly recall studying from the book more often than not in high school and my first college go-around because weeks later I could not read my own handwriting.

First world problems, y'all. *fist bump*

(In other news, I am only at about 11k right now with my NaNo. Which means that the guy at work gets to punch me in the face, except not really. I'm really looking forward to the weekend, you have NO idea. I have to play catch-up like whoa.)

I'm still behind - I should have a third of what I need done when instead I have a fifth.

That said, I'm currently printing out what I've got done so that I can spend the next three days outlining the crap out of this. *crosses fingers*
apocalypsos: (i am surprised by you)
In the definition of "quitting" which involves me missing work tonight because my day job FINALLY fell behind enough to start the monster overtime that comes around every enrollment period, and not being able to call in because I didn't have the phone number, aaaaand then just coming home instead of going to Wegmans and quitting like a good employee.

So ... yeah, that happened.

The upside is that I'm set to work a good twenty hours of overtime or so in the next three days.

Of course, the downside is being five thousand words behind where I'm supposed to be for NaNo and not having a working netbook, but let's not get into that. *wince*

Then again, back on the upside, this means I'll be able to afford a new cell phone come my next paycheck, and that my mom will still be paying for the plan since it only costs her $12.50 a month for me anyway and she doesn't mind paying it, AND that I can shut off my landline.

But back on the downside again, my apartment needs cleaning, I need to talk to the doctor about my Lexapro, I need to mail my financial aid forms and pick up my new phone, and I need to start going back to the dentist already to finish fixing my teeth, aaaaand I'm not going to be able to unless I stop taking overtime anytime soon. Which I won't.

... okay, all this upside and downside talk is giving me motion sickness. Time to go make a dent in ye olde word count.
