Random stuff

-- So yesterday was the primaries, and my mom (who's running for the town council) came in second with 71 votes. The guy in first place had 74 votes, which means that if my brother and I had voted, she would have been one vote out of first place. That said, there are three seats available for the Democrats this year (the sole Republican is up for the two-year seat), so unless there's some huge write-in vote my mom's officially on the town council as of November. Sweeeeeeeeet.

-- I watched The Voice last night and I fully supported every decision the judges made. Not that some of the people that got sent home weren't good, but the ones who are staying truly deserved it. And Jared Blake gets extra props from me for coming out of nowhere and tearing "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" a new one, 'cause he really was great. Also, Beverly! Who is clearly better than all of us. :D

Energy! I need more energy!

I informed a co-worker today that you can tell just how bad my writer's block is at any given moment because I routinely buy notebooks which catch my fancy, save them for another time, and use them as my creativity demands, and the more brand-new untouched notebooks I have at any given time will tell you just how blank my brain is.

I currently have twenty brand-new untouched notebooks.

That said, my writer's block doesn't have to go away just yet because my editing brain is fresh and demands to be allowed out to attack poor defenseless manuscripts with a red pen and a grumbled, "That's not where that goddamn apostrophe goes!" Now it would just be nice to have the energy to actually edit something when I get the hell home. Urgh.

Aaaaand one of these days I have to figure out where the hell we are with apocalyptothon, as the plague sort of left me mentally lying face-first on my floor moaning, "BLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH," and I'm still sort of slowly pulling my face out of the carpet.

... uh, that sounded slightly less pornographic in my head.
