apocalypsos: (i saw daddy kissing christmas troy)
How the Rapture would make a wicked post-apocalyptic horror movie if you just took the religion out of it. And how when you leave the religion in it, it's just sort of shitty asshattery all around.

I've got the Terminator trilogy (yes, even the third one) and a bunch of other world-ending movies to watch tomorrow as a Rapture party for one. Hey, any excuse to watch disaster movies is all right by me.

Meanwhile, I'm going to be working on Heroine Addiction this weekend in the highly unlikely event that The Scary Preacher From The Poltergeist Movies is actually a a creepy huckster who likes fucking with people over and over again because he gets off on having power over other people. Blasphemy, I KNOW. Even so, one should be prepared for the depressing possibility that Sunday will roll around and these gullible dips will still be around.

... ahem. I'm sorry, I seem to be burning off excess sarcasm and bad will I didn't use up this week at work.

Oh! Speaking of work, I got a new shift! We all had to bid on shifts last week, and then again yesterday after there was a bit of a screw-up, and now I will be working from noon to 8:30 p.m. every weekday. What's so great about that, you might say? Shift differentials, that's what. Apparently the difference between starting at 11:00 a.m. and starting at noon is an extra 10% of your hourly rate. Now all they have to do is keep me off the phones more often and I'll be MUCH happier.

But ... yes. Heroine Addiction. Which I have to finish editing, and then have to decorate with things like author's notes and title pages and the legalese bit that mostly makes my eyes cross when I try to come up with it, and THEN finagle the whole formatting situation. It shall be a ridiculously busy weekend, and if this works out I can pretty much guarantee that I will not be doing a goddamn thing next weekend.

Oh, and I will be doing a non-Kindle version, juuuuuuuuust as soon as I wrap my brain around how I'm going to manage it. (That's for tomorrow. Right now I'm still in decompressing-from-the-work-week mode. It's a miracle I finished this post, truth be told.) Also, the book is going to be fairly cheap. Buy a copy for a friend or two ... or twelve. :)
