A few bits here and there, yes. It's one of those shows where I like what I've seen and I know it's right up my alley, and I say, "Oh, I should start watching that," and I keep saying that and saying that until suddenly the show is over and I'm obliged to go out and get five seasons' worth of show and marathon the FUCK out of them.

Heh. Yeah, he usually gets over it after I put whichever chin is loose back in their cage. I can't figure out if it's fear or just annoyance that makes him act that way. This time, I took out Elliot afterward and was holding him towards the cat, and Otis immediately scampered away to the hole along the wall that the mouse came out of that one time like, "No, THAT'S the mouse I want to play with!"

I think he's just afraid they can take him in a fight. :)

Ooo. Superpowers are my hardcore fic kink. Magic powers, superpowers, whatever -- either one is pretty much a guarantee I'll give something a try. I spent years skipping lunch so I could spend my lunch money on comics, especially X-Men comics. I was ridiculously hooked on those. DC didn't really do a lot for me, but I really got sucked into Marvel easily when I first started collecting. The hilarious thing was that I got into comics right about the time that Image started up, and even then when I was still a kid who didn't know any better I was like, "This art is shit and every single team has the same five characters." Heh. :)

Yeah, a superhero!AU is on par with post-apocalyptic AUs for my favorite. It doesn't even have to be the tights and the code names. I just need characters suddenly developing telekinesis or Dean Winchester who has superstrength or Jon Stewart can read minds. YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU. *grabbyhands*

I am really surprised that BBT doesn't have more of a fandom. There's one really popular ship (that I actually ship for once, yay!) but it seems like a little black dress crossover show. And I just love seeing people talk about comic books on tv.

Oh, Parker and Wendy are my go-to girls for them, although if I have to pick back ups it's Ida for Middleman and Hardison for Leverage.

Although it's pretty much a toss-up right there, too, because there isn't anybody on Middleman I don't adore with every fiber of my being and Parker/Hardison/Eliot is ridiculously close to being my OT3 on Leverage. Not that I don't like Nate and Sophie, they're just ... different. (I always feel apologetic about Nate and Sophie. I like them! I just ... don't have this flailing giddy love that I do for the other three. And also for Sterling, who's fantastic.)

I've recently stopped fighting it and just admitted I fucking love superpowers. It's sometimes an uphill battle, convincing other people they're not gimmicky or bad writing or just wish fulfillment - they're flat-out fun, for one thing, and for another, they can be taken as seriously as you want, going from The Tick to something where it's more of a commentary on the characters with powers as the externalized metaphor.

I think fandom's about due for another "everyday superheroes" challenge.

I usually keep things simple just because I don't have a lot to spend on food and I'm not really that creative -- I usually screw up a recipe the first time I make it, so there's that to take into consideration, not to mention that there's not a lot of recipes for one person and I have an awful habit of forgetting about leftovers until they go bad, which sucks.

I love to bake, though. Cookies, cake, pie ... baking is fun. I have a container of cookie dough in the fridge right now that I put in there so I could make them as I want them and eat them freshly baked. :)

But when it comes to EATING food, oh, I'll try anything once. I don't have any food allergies and I've gotten to the point where I'll give anything a try because I never know whether or not I might like it. Also, I adore ethnic food, so I love going to ethnic restaurants and getting the full experience and atmosphere. That sort of sucks now, because I'm in an area where I'm lucky to get Italian and Chinese. There's a Thai restaurant in Scranton, but getting anybody to go with me would be a job of WORK. *grumbles*

Some things just make sense if you apply superpowers to the setting. I mean, Leverage doesn't need them, but that early comment from Parker about Nate never touching anyone becomes that much sweeter if you pretend he's a telepath and doesn't like touching people.

Also, I bet Parker likes that Nate reads minds, because it doesn't mean she has to look at him when they're talking, and that's one less social thing she has to worry about.

Leverage is awesome because it would work fantastically with superpowers thrown into it. It doesn't NEED them, of course -- they all kinda have superpowers the way they are now -- but it'd be neat, that's for sure. :D

And now after that Big Bang Theory mention earlier, man, would THAT be amazing with superpowers. Leonard and Sheldon with superpowers? I can't unsee it, omigod. Heeee.

I feel weird saying yes or no to the first part, so I think I'll just execute veto power and skip that one. ;)

The second part, though ... I think being a BNF confers the exact same responsibility that everybody else has, which is, "Don't be a dick on the internet." It's not like it's hard to think about what you say before you say it, and there's buttons you have to push before your statement goes out into the world, so you're a little better prepared than you are in real life when that stupid ill-worded opinion that you really want to rephrase tumbles past your lips anyway.

And yet, the internet is FILLED with people like that. Ugh.

Where's Otis?

Oh, he's asleep on my bed. He follows this set schedule -- he wakes me up at 6 or 6:30 to be fed, then goes off to sleep somewhere for most of the day. Occasionally he'll pop up for attention but mostly I don't see him again until dinnertime, after which he yowls and races around the apartment annoying the crap out of me for an hour or so, and then he disappears into my bedroom to wait for me to go to bed. He can be very predictable. :)

A little bit of both, I think. I think if you're too worried about getting a certain message through it can come through way more blunt than it should, whereas if you worry too much over the story the message may end up convoluted.

Yeah, it's called the Amber (and holy shit, there's actually a website!), and it's on Birney Ave more or less right across from Birney Plaza. It's been around for ages, and the food is amazing. I'd personally recommend going during the lunch buffet (I think it goes until around 2pm, but it doesn't say online), since you get to try a ton of really good stuff. Plus, they have desserts, too.

1.) The great thing about being an adult is that everything is okay. I mean, I wouldn't eat a pint of B&J's every night and chase it with a fifth of vodka, but every once in a while I believe everybody should have the right to start their day with a full breakfast of ice cream, cheesecake, Cheetos, and Smirnoff. 1.) Poltergeist -- The first time I saw it, I was a little blond girl with pigtails, a tree outside my bedroom window, and a clown doll that looked a lot like the one in the movie. That one still gives me the heebies.

2.) The Exorcist -- I cannot watch that movie from beginning to end. Never have. It's not even the story that gets to me, although the story itself is creepy as hell. I just can't watch. I could watch the most innocuous ten minutes of the entire movie and my skin will start to crawl and I'll have to turn it off.

3.) The Shining -- Somewhere between the elevators full of blood and the BIG EMPTY HOTEL, I freak.
