I am bored out of my MIND.
Ask me something. I'm not even picky. Religion, politics, fandom, me, writing, whether you look fat in that outfit ... I don't CARE.
I just want to talk about something and I have no idea where to start.
*pokes you all*

Did Otis ever calm down from the 'Mom! The Giant Mouse-Thing is Loose!' spazzout?

Date: 2009-08-10 12:38 am (UTC)Yes, but I haven't written or read any of them. ;)
And if I did, mine would be an AU where John went after them all by himself with a machete and a hangover and came out covered in sparkles.
Have you seen The Big Bang Theory?
A few bits here and there, yes. It's one of those shows where I like what I've seen and I know it's right up my alley, and I say, "Oh, I should start watching that," and I keep saying that and saying that until suddenly the show is over and I'm obliged to go out and get five seasons' worth of show and marathon the FUCK out of them.
Did Otis ever calm down from the 'Mom! The Giant Mouse-Thing is Loose!' spazzout?
Heh. Yeah, he usually gets over it after I put whichever chin is loose back in their cage. I can't figure out if it's fear or just annoyance that makes him act that way. This time, I took out Elliot afterward and was holding him towards the cat, and Otis immediately scampered away to the hole along the wall that the mouse came out of that one time like, "No, THAT'S the mouse I want to play with!"
I think he's just afraid they can take him in a fight. :)

Date: 2009-08-10 12:46 am (UTC)Yeah, a superhero!AU is on par with post-apocalyptic AUs for my favorite. It doesn't even have to be the tights and the code names. I just need characters suddenly developing telekinesis or Dean Winchester who has superstrength or Jon Stewart can read minds. YES PLEASE AND THANK YOU. *grabbyhands*

Date: 2009-08-10 12:47 am (UTC)I am really surprised that BBT doesn't have more of a fandom. There's one really popular ship (that I actually ship for once, yay!) but it seems like a little black dress crossover show. And I just love seeing people talk about comic books on tv.
Chinchillas probably freak cats the hell out. Looks like a mouse but big as me.
So who was your favorite characters on Middleman and Leverage, speaking of marathoning closed canon?
no subject
Date: 2009-08-10 12:52 am (UTC)Oh, Parker and Wendy are my go-to girls for them, although if I have to pick back ups it's Ida for Middleman and Hardison for Leverage.
Although it's pretty much a toss-up right there, too, because there isn't anybody on Middleman I don't adore with every fiber of my being and Parker/Hardison/Eliot is ridiculously close to being my OT3 on Leverage. Not that I don't like Nate and Sophie, they're just ... different. (I always feel apologetic about Nate and Sophie. I like them! I just ... don't have this flailing giddy love that I do for the other three. And also for Sterling, who's fantastic.)

Date: 2009-08-10 01:00 am (UTC)I love to bake, though. Cookies, cake, pie ... baking is fun. I have a container of cookie dough in the fridge right now that I put in there so I could make them as I want them and eat them freshly baked. :)
But when it comes to EATING food, oh, I'll try anything once. I don't have any food allergies and I've gotten to the point where I'll give anything a try because I never know whether or not I might like it. Also, I adore ethnic food, so I love going to ethnic restaurants and getting the full experience and atmosphere. That sort of sucks now, because I'm in an area where I'm lucky to get Italian and Chinese. There's a Thai restaurant in Scranton, but getting anybody to go with me would be a job of WORK. *grumbles*

Date: 2009-08-10 01:00 am (UTC)Politics... Time for another constitutional convention?
Fandom... Are you a BNF? If so, does that confer any responsibilities?
Me... Where's Otis?
Writing... is the skill in writing crafting your message to your audience, or better expressing your thoughts?
whether you look fat in that outfit... If you have a muffin flap when wearing jeans, is it time to wear bigger jeans?

Date: 2009-08-10 01:02 am (UTC)GOD, yes.
I totally cheated and gave the main character in Heroine Addiction my favorite superpower. A hot brunette bisexual teleporter with hips and an ass ... it's like I'm building her for my very own Get Out Of Heterosexuality Free card. :D

Date: 2009-08-10 01:06 am (UTC)Also, I bet Parker likes that Nate reads minds, because it doesn't mean she has to look at him when they're talking, and that's one less social thing she has to worry about.

Date: 2009-08-10 01:11 am (UTC)And now after that Big Bang Theory mention earlier, man, would THAT be amazing with superpowers. Leonard and Sheldon with superpowers? I can't unsee it, omigod. Heeee.

Date: 2009-08-10 01:27 am (UTC)i also volunteer to help run a re-run of Everyday Superheroes. Actually, fuck it, we need a superhero multifandom comm! (apart from the one we already have which is too convoluted for newbies *g*)

Time for another constitutional convention?
Good Lord, I hope not. I might say yes, but considering the way politicians have been acting these days ... ugh.
Are you a BNF? If so, does that confer any responsibilities?
I feel weird saying yes or no to the first part, so I think I'll just execute veto power and skip that one. ;)
The second part, though ... I think being a BNF confers the exact same responsibility that everybody else has, which is, "Don't be a dick on the internet." It's not like it's hard to think about what you say before you say it, and there's buttons you have to push before your statement goes out into the world, so you're a little better prepared than you are in real life when that stupid ill-worded opinion that you really want to rephrase tumbles past your lips anyway.
And yet, the internet is FILLED with people like that. Ugh.
Where's Otis?
Oh, he's asleep on my bed. He follows this set schedule -- he wakes me up at 6 or 6:30 to be fed, then goes off to sleep somewhere for most of the day. Occasionally he'll pop up for attention but mostly I don't see him again until dinnertime, after which he yowls and races around the apartment annoying the crap out of me for an hour or so, and then he disappears into my bedroom to wait for me to go to bed. He can be very predictable. :)
is the skill in writing crafting your message to your audience, or better expressing your thoughts?
A little bit of both, I think. I think if you're too worried about getting a certain message through it can come through way more blunt than it should, whereas if you worry too much over the story the message may end up convoluted.
If you have a muffin flap when wearing jeans, is it time to wear bigger jeans?
Oh, god, yes. Wearing jeans that actually fit makes you look skinnier than wearing a smaller size and having your muffin top spill over the top.

Date: 2009-08-10 02:06 am (UTC)2) Do chinchillas make noise and if so, do they sound anything like guinea pigs? (Which sound pretty much exactly like car alarms. In fact the ones I had in SF used to try to talk to car alarms.)

Date: 2009-08-10 03:53 pm (UTC)2.) The Exorcist -- I cannot watch that movie from beginning to end. Never have. It's not even the story that gets to me, although the story itself is creepy as hell. I just can't watch. I could watch the most innocuous ten minutes of the entire movie and my skin will start to crawl and I'll have to turn it off.
3.) The Shining -- Somewhere between the elevators full of blood and the BIG EMPTY HOTEL, I freak.
