A few random things
Feb. 14th, 2010 08:49 pm-- My mom, my uncle and I went to go see The Wolfman yesterday. It was ... all right, I guess. It was cheesy and stupid, but it sort of knew it was cheesy and stupid. At the same time, I think they should have just gone all out and filmed it in black and white. Also, Emily Blunt is very pretty, but I didn't need to witness it on the big screen to know it.
-- I completely forgot that today was the premiere of the new season of TAR until I turned on the TV at ten after eight and saw the episode was already on. So far nobody's aggravating me, which is impressive considering there's always SOMEBODY who's irritating pretty much immediately. Of course, I missed the first ten minutes, so it's possible I missed absolute douchitude out of someone.
-- I signed up for overtime for the next two weekends, but I get the impression I'm going into get into work tomorrow and I'll find out they'll have canceled voluntary overtime like they canceled the mandatory overtime last week.
-- I didn't go to the gym today, not because I didn't want to, but because I wore the wrong sneakers when I went yesterday and they dug a huge blister into the back of my heel. So, yeah ... an hour on the treadmill doesn't sound so appealing when I had to wear clogs to work because my regular sneakers make my foot hurt.
-- I have missed everything associated with the Olympics, which sucks but ... well, it's either that or work on writing. So I work on writing, as much as I can lately anyway.
-- Oh, you've got to be kidding me. They just showed a promo for Undercover Boss and tonight the "boss" is the CEO (I think) of Hooters. They show him in a restaurant watching as the manager tells the waitresses that they'll have to play his "reindeer games" before making them eat peanuts or something off a tray without using their hands, to which the CEO says, "He can't treat them like that." Yeah, why can't he just resort to the usual sexism of making them wear those ludicrous excuses for uniforms?
