Hildi's room ... well, it was definitely worse than the sectioned room. First off, "Pureed Barney" is exactly the color that was on the walls. I kid you not. It had this huge Barbie-pink couch in it, and this coffee table with a clear top that was covered with snow globes (it had better have been the owner's collection, because otherwise, that's exceedingly tacky). And the floors ... she carpeted the floors in goddamn foam. It started out an office and ended up Liza Minelli's dressing room.
Kia's room probably would have made me happy if she hadn't designed it, since she had a nice musical theme going and then frugged it all up by putting instruments everywhere, putting up the manditory fugly border, and decouppaging (sp?) music sheets to the countertop. Vern could have done the same theme and made it look classy. She managed to make it look very cheap.
I think a lot of the rooms I've seen of Hildi's are on my worst list. The sectioned one, definitely. The hay room is at the absolute top (here, see a room for children designed by a woman who's apparently never even met one) and the stapling-the-flowers-on-the-walls one was another bad one. Gen putting moss on the walls would have looked twice as bad if it weren't for the fact that all I could think was, "Well, at least it's not hay." Hildi doing that children's bedroom in Britain (complete with the "I stole this color combo from old Nickelodeon commercials" design and the giant bureau) was a nightmare.
Everything Kia does gives me pain. Everything. The military room, the Egyptian room, the coffin room ... somebody stop her before she designs again
