apocalypsos: (work sucks)

It's Monday, nobody I know won the Powerball this weekend, and Fred Phelps is still alive but Christopher Reeve isn't. *grumbles*

Rec me a fanfic, an LJ post, a website ... anything. Tell me a joke, some amusing trivis, a funny anecdote ... anything. Write me a drabble, a movie review ... anything.

I have to leave for work soon, so I probably won't get to respond until tonight, but I'm going to have my email sent to my cell phone, so at least I'll be amused with LJ comments as the day goes on. :)

*shags friends list for good measure, then leaves the number for a very large Swiss bank account on the nightstand*

Always gets a laugh. Even from vegetarians, although they feel guilty afterwards.

Here, have some webcomics. They kill time like nothing else. Plus, pretty drawings! Angsty, pretty boys! And girls!

Fallen - My favourite. It's all in colour, which is nice.

Strings of Fate - Some gorgeous god-type people.

Directions of Destiny - Pretty and strange...

Errant Story - Parody. Sort of. Whatever, its fun, and really, really long, so it kills loads of time.

Also, I have kindof a mission to teach everyone the word Nonappropriability. Its the economic problem you and I cause by downloading mp3s. And a great way to sound like a smartass. Use it well!

On day, Hodja was at his home, when a neighbour came by.

Hodja, he said, I would like to borrow your donkey to carry my wood.

Hodja did not want to lend his donkey to his neighbour. No, he said, my son has taken my donkey to the village, so you cannot borrow him.

At that momen, Hodja's donkey let out a huge bray from the yard.

But Hodja, his neighbour asked, if your donkey has gone to town, what's that in your backyard?

Hodja turned on his neighbour and said, who are you going to believe, me or the donkey?

So, uh, you've all heard that old joke:

Q: What's the difference between Michael Jackson and a plastic bag?
A: One's white and plastic, and the other one holds your groceries.

Now there's a new one in the works:

Q: What's the similarity between Michael Jackson and a plastic bag?
A: You shouldn't leave either alone with young children.

Right, stop tossing those rotten tomatoes already, thank you very much! Here, I love this link: 8Legged Entertainment. Cooking shows hosted by an... octopus! :)

**has a thought** Are you familiar with the work of Ursula Vernon? She's done some webcomics--you can get Irrational Fears free, though I can't seem to find the version on her site with commentary anymore, which is sad. Still, "For reasons even I am unclear, I am drawing myself as a chupacabra," pretty much stands on its own. I'd also be intensely surprised if you didn't love Gothbat (more of which can be found on her site). You can also read the first couple pages of Digger there. And then there's her regular art, which really doesn't deserve the name regular, as it's... it's.... Well, it.... Okay, this is the woman who did Valley of the Wang in an attempt to get phallic rock formations out of her system. This is the woman with paintings like "The Lurking Turnip" (...And it was then she realized that the turnip was following her.). And... "Fengor the Mauve could never figure out why the other wizards didn't take him seriously, but he knew all that would change once he managed to extract gold from a chicken." This is the woman who did a nude chupacabra pinup (furry pinups sell nicely) but couldn't resist adding a plush stuffed goat.

Her mind is not like our minds. **considers** Well, maybe it's sort of like your mind. At any rate, you can lose hours on a first time visit to her site:
http://www.metalandmagic.com/

"The domestic slug makes a beloved pet and valued member of the family--loyal, alert, good with the hatchlings. Stories of faithful slugs sliming their way across hundreds of miles to return home, or oozing into burning buildings to rescue those trapped inside abound. (Sadly, since the top speed of a slug is rather less than the top speed of a burning building, those latter stories rarely have happy endings, but everybody agrees that it's a really first rate effort on the part of the loyal slug.) Truly, the slug is lizard's best friend.

'Course, you gotta housebreak the little buggers first."

I bring you kitty love
