On one hand, if the Packers can hold off the Redskins from scoring for another five minutes of game time, election-year tradition decrees that John Kerry will win the presidential election.

On the other hand, just because this tradition has gone on for seventy years doesn't mean it'll hold up forever. See also: the Boston Red Sox.

Oh, I don't know what the hell to think anymore.

They pointed out on 'Have I Got News For You' (a topical satrical news quiz this sideof the pond,) that only twice in American history has the shorter candidate won, and that Kerry is rather tall. One of the team captians said that that was only because Bush was standing in the hole he was still digging... well it made me laugh.

Thank god it'll be over soon, one way or the other.

It looks like whoever wins we're loosing some superstition or another.

As of right now, the score's 28-14 for the Packers, with only a minute and a half left to play. I may let myself be superstitious. :)

With good reason at this point. Early voting polling gives Kerry an 11 point lead in Iowa.

Uh-huh. That link made me think of the Nickelodeon poll, which has been right for the last four elections. Those kids picked Kerry. It's terribly amusing paying attention to all these superstitions.

Aaaaaand the Packers just won.

I'm sorta partial to the redskins trend, myself. I have a soft spot for contituities with a history like that.

Me, too. Here's hoping it holds up this year. :)

I'd love to hear some sports journalist ask Bush and Kerry about the game, just out of curiosity.

It's a strange, topsy-turvey world when I'm rooting for the Packers. This is the kind of craziness that Dubya has forced us to.

(yay for them winning though)
