1. You know, the Operation comparison out of Locke is pretty apt, considering he used to work in a toy store. Hee. :)

2. I still can't get over the fact that Hurley went missing on his mother's birthday. Awwww.

3. Did anybody else notice that when Sayid and Charlie finally catch up to Danielle, the baby is crying when she's holding him, crying when Sayid is holding him, and stops almost immediately after he's passed to Charlie? That was kinda cute, actually. ;)

4. I loved the fact that during the plane montage, they cut from Sayid right over to Shannon. Aw. I may even like that pairing better than Charlie and Claire right now. *g*

5. Also, Sawyer walking down the aisle in that sequence makes me want to yelp, "No! Don't get on the plane!" Well, I do for everybody else, but after the shooting, I just ... *whimper* I also get the distinct urge to smack the guy giving Sayid that suspicious look. Back the fuck away from my cuddly little Iraqi, you. Grrrr.

6. In retrospect, thinking about the heroin that Charlie took from the crash site ... I just can't be as pissed about the whole thing at him as a lot of other people I'd seen. I mean, do I wish he hadn't taken it? Of course. Do I think it's going to get him in trouble? Hell, yeah. But that's the thing. From the moment the heroin was revealed, everybody knew Charlie would find it eventually. And from what we've been taught of the character, he's sweet and he means well, but he's not strong at all, either emotionally, physically, or mentally. The chances that he was going to simply deny the heroin's existence when he found it and not touch the stuff were extremely slim. We're talking about a guy who in island time gave up the drugs two and a half, maybe three weeks ago, and not by choice, but because there simply were no drugs. He's still an addict, and while it wasn't smart or nice to take the heroin, it wasn't the act of someone with a clear mind regarding the situation, and it wasn't outright evil the way I've seen a few reactions to it imply.

7. Oh, the Shannon/Sayid hug makes me just as happy as a real Charlie/Claire kiss would have. They make me want to write shippy futurefic with them. Oh, yes. *happy sigh*

8. I don't think this gets said enough, but Jorge Garcia's hair is gorgeous and I love it. :)

I still have a feeling that he took the statue from the plane because he wants to give it to Rose (or keep it himself)
Especially after praying with her when he was so messed up after Ethan had taken Claire.
I wonder if he knows that the statue has Heroin in it, I can't remember if Sayid specifically mentioned that to him.

Yeah, he knows there's heroin in it. Sayid mentioned it, and showed him as much with one of the Virgin Mary statues.

I honestly don't think it's for Rose, but if he did take the heroin out of one and we just didn't see it, I can believe he brought it with him simply as a reminder that he can be a better person and he has Claire and Aaron to watch out for. I'm trying to keep that in mind, because if he took a statue fully planning on breaking it open later for the heroin, it's dumb of him. Locke and Sayid both know what those statues are, and if they see pieces of one of them somewhere in the cave, they'll know someone broke it to get at the heroin.

If he wanted the heroin so badly, why wouldn't he just take the heroin Sayid showed him at the site when Sayid wasn't looking? It doesn't make sense, but on the other hand, Charlie's never been the kind of guy to really think anything out.

Seriously, I hope the same thing, that he took the statue to remind himself that he has too much going for him, Claire, Aaron, the rediscovery of his music, to throw it all away on (a still finite amount) of drugs. Maybe the statue is a centerpiece for his new family shrine. He IS a good Catholic boy after all.

Theories on Charlie (because I'm alternating being really disappointed and wanting to check him into rehab):

-He's setting up a prayer shrine to Our Lady of the Blessed Plane Crash.

-He broke the statue, dumped out the heroin, and kept what's left of the statue as a reminder that Drugs Are Bad.

I just find it amusing that nobody else has taken the heroin.
I mean... imagine finding yourself in the middle of the jungle, your leg is broken and you're in horrible pain and here comes the security system or the polar bear.
Would you rather be eaten alive? Or overdoze on a blissful drug?

Boone sure as hell could have used some heroin if they wanted to rip his leg off.

It may be a horribly addictive drug of doom but it can also be used like medicine >_>

Two, I haven't been associating all the negative stereotyping to Australians, I've been attaching them to the people involved. Jackass BabyDaddy, for instance, is a (stereo)typical loser "can't handle the realities of fatherhood" jackass. And I didn't see Farmer Doggett as being money-grubbing actually. You could see that it pained him to make that decision, but it was one he came to believe that he had to make in order to survive.

I was thinking that too. Maybe they will build it up to the point where we think he has the drugs, Sayid and Lock think he has the drugs and announce it to the rest of the survivors but no, it's just the statue to remind him of what he has now.

Maybe they will build up the character strength by having have that heroin to fall back onto at any time but doesn't.
