I may have spent the last half hour eating half a canister of Pop Nots and playing Super Mario Land on a Game Boy emulator, but you'll never prove it. *shifty eyes*

Also, fixed the patches of undyed bits in my hair, so now it's all dark red.

Yeah, I got nothin' today. *shrugs* Well, except these links ...

Turkmen President bans lip synching. Wow, we should be a lot more like Turkmenistan. Because apparently, all of their more important problems have been fixed already. (This whole planet is making me headdesk anymore.)

Speaking of headdesking, thanks to Fandom Wank we have a high school English teacher making his students write HP 'shipping essays. No, really. And he as a H/Hr shipper gave most of the A's to the H/Hr papers, because that's not biased at all.

And thanks to OTF_Wank, it turns out there are liberals under my bed. Half of the funny is in the reviews.

Then there's this CNN article about the new fall shows. I was planning on watching Prison Break (Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell ... yum), Bones and -- God help me -- Just Legal, but so much for watching Commander-In-Chief. I just can't bring myself to watch a female character in her late forties named MacKenzie, for crying out loud.

Prison Break really has me interested, but it could go so horribly awry so quickly. It would be great if it was just a season long storyline, and boom we're done. I wish the US would do more things like that knowingly. The show could get REALLY annoying in it's third year. Or even third episode if it's done poorly.

But it has definite potential.

If it's genuine, it's not going to improve the intelligence of its readers very much. Both text and illustrations are pretty uninspiring.

I suppose if it weren't for evil liberals under the bed like Abraham Lincoln, the book could have been all about how two little slave brothers serve their masters in the cotton-fields.

Does the mother in the book actually vote for the politicians who support conservative policies? If so, isn't she wickedly benefitting from those evil liberals under the bed who campaigned for women to have the vote?

To quoth the Kelso, "BURN!"

On new fall shows: I'm going to try to catch Close to Home for Christian Kane and I'm fascinated with Supernatural already, but most of my schedule is filled with trying to choose among last year's suprisingly good run of new stuff.

Seriously. I have to choose between Veronica Mars and Lost? *whimpers*

Actually, it's not that hard -- I choose VM over Lost any day, but still, there's a whole schedule out there and they managed to cram all of the good shows into one of two cherry time slots. *sigh*

My god, do the wingnuts want to give their kids nightmares? I know I'd never be able to sleep with the thought of Hillary Clinton hiding under my bed.

I finally had to work that out by bribing family members. Lost is my crack and my love for it when it can slip into mediocrity pretty easily makes no sense to me, but I can't escape it. On the other hand, I saw a boy yesterday that looked like Logan must have when he was about fourteen and about had a fit, so maybe rationality doesn't play a big part in the V-Mars love, either.

I may luck out, if you can even call it that, because up in my hometown, they didn't have UPN last time I checked, but they did show new episodes of UPN shows on Saturday. So if things are still the same back home and I can manage to hold out on spoilers for a few days, I can watch both without worrying about taping them. *crosses fingers*

Y'know, I have a friend who really dislikes slash. Argued with her about it. One of her complaints is that after HBP came out, several shippers argued with JKR about the relationships contained therein.

I don't think I've ever seen a Harry/Draco shipper who actually argued with JKR, at least, seriously. I doubt I'll ever see one fail people for writing other ships in class... but I can believe that both from Harry/Hermione and Ron/Hermione shippers, easy.

(That said, other than the stupidity of his grading, that sounds like an interesting assignment)

MacKenzie? Let's hope she's like another similarily named commander and punches out her enemies.

"Madame President, the people of Syria will not stand for American soldiers making raids into our territory to rescue hostages!"
