Because everybody loves a good meme, here's the list of Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments, which really is more of a movie-by-movie thing instead of a "moment" sort of thing, but whatever. In any event, I'm highlighting the ones I've seen ...

100 Scariest Movie Moments

100. 28 Days Later -- That shot of an empty London just creeped me right the hell out, not to mention that the spastic zombies were a nice change.
99. Creepshow -- Granted, the only part I really remember is that one with Stephen King, but still.
98. Zombie
97. Cat People
96. The Birds -- Which I'm watching right now. :)
95. Jurassic Park -- I was trying to figure out what would make that scary, but okay, thinking back on seeing the Tyrannosaurus for the first time in the movie theater ... oh, yeah.
94. Child's Play
93. Pacific Heights -- ... the hell?
92. Village of the Damned -- Hey, I was watching that this afternoon, too. Definitely spooky.
91. Shallow Grave
90. Night of the Hunter
89. Alice Sweet Alice
88. Invasion of the Body Snatchers -- Haven't seen it since I was a kid and I remember the remake better, but I do remember seeing the old version. My parents let me watch scary movies and took me to a Queen concert when I was a year old. BECAUSE THEY WERE AWESOME. *g*
87. Black Christmas
86. Wizard of Oz -- All right, yeah, there are some scary sequences in that. The flying monkeys alone are fucked up.
85. Blood & Black Lace
84. Blue Velvet
83. The Others -- One of the few movies I've liked Nicole Kidman in.
82. Terminator -- Exactly how many times can I highlight something? ;) (I can still remember the first time I saw it, too, because my entire family was going to see T2 the weekend it came out and everybody was shocked I'd never seen the original. So I saw the first one and the second one for the first time about six hours apart, so I sort of Terminator overdosed.)
81. The Howling
80. Poltergeist -- When I first saw this movie, I was a little blond girl with a clown doll and a tree outside my bedroom window. I was the last person on Earth who should have seen that movie as a child.
79. Dracula
78. The Brood
77. Signs -- The fuck? Was I the only one not scared by that movie? Shyamalan used the same weakness in this movie as he did in Unbreakable, for crying out loud.
76. Evil Dead -- Oh, YES.
75. Candyman
74. Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory -- It was probably mostly for the tunnel sequence, I'll bet, but you can't say it wasn't deserved for that.
73. Blood Simple
72. Them!
71. The Sixth Sense -- I really have to get a copy of this.
70. The Stepfather -- I don't remember anything specific, just Terry O'Quinn going fucking batshit.
69. Re-Animator
68. The Black Cat
67. Duel
66. The Tenant
65. Marathon Man -- The sad thing about my not having seen this is that I do own it on DVD.
64. Near Dark
63. Deliverance
62. The Wolf Man
61. The Devil's Backbone -- It's the way the little wisps thread upward from the ghost's head that throw me off.
60. The Beyond
59. Fatal Attraction
58. Cujo -- And it pissed me off, too, because much like with The Poseidon Adventure, the little boy didn't die like he did in the book.
57. House of Wax
56. Single White Female
55. The Vanishing
54. The Changeling -- Own it, and may watch it again later tonight. :)
53. Demons
52. The Phantom of the Opera
51. The Dead Zone
50. The Last House on the Left
49. Diabolique
48. The Thing
47. Nosferatu -- And also Shadow of the Vampire, although I doubt that counts for anything.
46. The Sentinel
45. The Wicker Man
44. The Game
43. It's Alive! -- HEE! Oh, my God, yes! It was on one time late night on USA when I had to have been about twelve, and all I could think was, "YAY! Crazy flesh-eating monster baby!"
42. An American Werewolf in London -- Oh, I should watch this tonight, too. Halloween should have some extra hours. *sigh*
41. The Hills Have Eyes
40. Black Sunday
39. Dawn of the Dead
38. Peeping Tom
37. House on Haunted Hill
36. Cape Fear
35. Aliens
34. The Hitcher
33. The Fly
32. Pet Sematary
31. Friday the 13th -- The first time I saw this, I hid under a table on New Year's Eve so I could get away with seeing it when the adults were watching it. And when she was sitting in that boat and he leaped out of the water to grab her, I screamed at the top of my lungs. Heh. That's what my aunts and uncles got for not letting me watch. ;)
30. Blair Witch Project -- Hey, that last shot is really goddamn creepy, all right?
29. Serpent and the Rainbow
28. When a Stranger Calls
27. Frankenstein
26. Seven -- It's so Sloth that just scares the crap out of me.
25. Phantasm
24. Suspiria
23. Rosemary's Baby
22. Don't Look Now
21. Jacob's Ladder
20. The Ring -- I really do have to see Ringu, but the American version spooked me good and hard.
19. Hellraiser
18. The Haunting
17. A Nightmare on Elm Street
16. The Omen
15. Freaks -- OMG, I love this movie. Seriously. I used to have a copy on VHS tape, and now it's out on DVD and I don't have it and it's a fucking tragedy. One of us, one of us ... *shivers*
14. Halloween -- I have to say that as scary as the movie is, the theme music is still the scariest goddamn theme song ever.
13. Scream
12. Misery -- I have a realy intense aversion to seeing bones break (I had to cover my eyes and mute the TV when I Love The 80s showed Lawrence Taylor breaking that one guy's leg), even fictional bones, so the hobbling scene still freaks me out waaaaaay too much.
11. Audition
10. Wait Until Dark
9. Night of the Living Dead -- This was on sale for six bucks at Suncoast. Six bucks. The word "blasphemy" doesn't even begin to describe it.
8. Carrie
7. Silence of the Lambs -- Hannibal Lecter: scariest motherfucker on the planet. :)
6. The Shining -- The original copy of the list left out the "The", which made me think of the Cameron Crowe-esque remix trailer, which made me die giggling. But the elevator full of blood ... that's the bit that squicks me.
5. Texas Chainsaw Massacre
4. Psycho -- I made my brother watch this when he expressed interest in going to see the remake. Luckily, he showed enough taste after he'd seen both to like the original much better.
3. The Exorcist -- Honest to God, I cannot watch this in one sitting. It's not even the movie that scares me, it's the vibe I get while I'm watching it. I put it on for maybe fifteen minutes at a time and then I'm just too creeped out to go on.
2. Alien -- I really have to see the first two Alien movies. Really.
1. Jaws -- I know it's cheesy to put Jaws at number one, but just try to remember the first time you saw it. I mean, Jesus, I don't go in the ocean and never will, and I saw that stupid thing when I was five. (I did mention my parents letting me watch scary movies waaaaaay too young, right?)
