Just got back from going to see Pride and Prejudice. I have to admit that I haven't seen the entire BBC miniseries (just bits and pieces here and there) or read the book (Austen's one of those authors for whom I can guarantee something major will happen while I'm reading her that'll make it so I don't finish the book). But I loved this version, I really did. I'm usually not all that big on Keira Knightley, but she made for a decent Elizabeth. Not perfect, but better than I expected. And Matthew MacFadyen just ... GUH. I also spent two hours wanting to bash Lydia in the head with a frying pan, but since that was intentional, good going, Jena Malone. *snickers*

In other news, one of the downsides of living in Pennsylvania is sitting through television commercials telling us how great Rick Santorum is. Yeah, thanks, Committee for Job Security or whatever the hell your name is. Now I'm going to have to gargle with bleach and scrub my teeth with a wire brush to get that taste out of my mouth.

Don't worry, the We Hate Santorum Club is hard at work making sure he won't be in office much longer. *cackles*

Oh, yes. That would be the upside of living in PA -- seeing all of the DEFEAT SANTORUM bumper stickers on the cars. HEE. :)

:D Hallo~ I'm a fan of your sense of humor and just recently added you to my flist.

X3

And I'd been eyeing Pride and Prejudice(the movie)for awhile but wary about whether or not I'd be bored. For a person who's never read, or seen the original, do you think it's still a good movie to see?

:D

This makes me glad I'll be in Europe for most of the campaigning, but get to come back to vote against him in the election. ^^

And my Santorum-supporting neighbors (who SEEM like nice old people...) are moving out of the state.

Oh, yes, if you liked Sense and Sensibility, I would definitely suggest this one. The set design and costumes are perfectly set up and the acting is just great all around. :)

I can't wait for the next election so that he can get his ass voted out, but I'm also afraid to see how many people are stupid enough to vote for him.
