Okay, for some ungodly reason I'm watching the 100 Funniest Movies list, and it's still pissing me off.

So name me your favorite funny movies. Not the best comedies, but the movies that make you laugh hysterically every time you see them.

My favorites?

The Princess Bride, which is one of my three favorite movies of all time, if we're counting the Terminator series and the "Irwin Allen's Attempt to Destroy The Planet in the '70s In Three Crappy Disaster Movies" trio of death and destruction as one movie each.

Arthur, because that movie keeps me laughing for two straight hours without fail.

A Fish Called Wanda, because Kevin Kline in that movie is the best thing on the planet after maple walnut ice cream.

Airplane!, because that's my dad's influence at work.

Monty Python and the Holy Grail, because ... well, REALLY.

And an honorable mention to the scene in While You Were Sleeping where the paperboy goes to throw the newspaper from the icy sidewalk and his bike goes flying out from under him, if only because that scene never fails to KILL ME DEAD.

Okay, those already mentioned that I agree with: Robin Hood: men in tights (I love Robin Hood - always have. So an entire film satirizing it always makes me laugh - because I've seen most of the movies they take off. And "You've gotta be a man to wear tights" never fails to make me snicker. Dogma (reaffirms my faith in the divine - I LOVE the idea of God as someone who wears plaid boxers and does headstands - while making fun of all the hypercritical, hypocritical bullshit that has put me off organized religion as a whole.) UHF (this is called 'the Vidiot from UHF' in Australia. Wierd Al Yankovic. In a movie. Now I've bought the DVD, my brother and I are going to be having a bonding moment over it. I'm also surprised to see someone else thought of it first!) Monty Python and the Holy Grail (no explaination needed. Seriously) New suggestions: PCU aka PCU Pit party: One of the few movies my parents laugh at as much as I do. Makes fun of a huge chunk of pretentious people, and shows that working for a cause you believe in is good, but working for a cause you believe in AND is fun is much, much, better - and you won't get anywhere if you think a cause makes you better than anyone else. Spears all the overly PC people on their own petard. Empire Records - okay, this is more of a dramedy, but I wanna work here! 'I don't need to explain my art to you'. The Incredibles - This is totally WICKED! :-) All Pixar is good, but this is my hands-down fave. Edna Mode rocks the universe! I keep hoping they'll give her a spinoff. *sigh*
