The guy who bought the rundown dump of a house next door to my parents is from out-of-state so the house has basically just been sitting there not being tended to for months now. (And this dumbass thinks he'll sell it for 60k. Around here? Shyeah, right.)

Anyway, because he hasn't cut the grass, my parents are now getting mice. You know, the people who have seven cats, only one of whom still has his claws.

A few days ago, they apparently chased a mouse for an hour before my father finally whacked it dead with a broom. Today, my brother came home from work to find Owen, who's got a roly-poly belly and awkward stick arms, flailing around in the dining room with a mouse in his jaws. Which he killed. Which, if you've ever seen Owen do anything, is hilaaaarious.

But, yeah. I call my brother about something else and hear that story, along with:

Bryan: So that makes Owen our WMD.
Me: Huh?
Bryan: Weapon of mouse destruction.
Me: ... you're SO going to hell for that one.

$60k for a house?

Parking spaces go for $60k in my neighborhood. Who's got inflated real estate prices???

*stares* $60,000 for a house? Ok, I live in New York so I possibly have an inflated idea of what things should cost, but that seems extremely inexpensive to me.

That punchline made me giggle way more than it should have.

Sixty thousand for a house?

SIXTY?

*cries a lot, for the median home price in my neighborhood is over $400,000*

We have some a few blocks from here that are "starting in the low $900s". They are gorgeous. *cries*

Oh, I don't doubt it. I made the mistake of reading an article the other day about home prices in Medina -- read: That City On the Lake Nearby Where Bill Gates Lives -- and suffered a bit of a coronary. ;)

You *absolutely* need a cat icon with, "Weapon of Mouse Destruction."

LOL!

And $60k is pretty low where I live too, but some homes go for near that. Depends on where the location is.

Can Owen come live in my car for awhile? *sigh*

The stupid things think my fan is an exercise wheel.

Oh, it sounds inexpensive, but if you really want an idea of how much of a dump this place is, most of that is just for paying off taxes. The place should be condemned. Sixty thousand around here can get you a really nice place FAR better than this joke.

WMD, I like it. Can't he call the city about the lawn, start getting some tickets issued so the guy is forced to hire a lawn cutting team.
