I hate, hate, HATE writer's block.

I'd rather be sick. I'd rather have a sore throat and a stuffy nose and a fever and nausea and fatigue and my period all at the same goddamn time. I'd rather have a twisted ankle again, and considering how badly I fucked my ankle up the one time I did that, that's saying something.

I hate this feeling. I have recaps to write or finish and a new first sentence to come up with and Books of Boggs scenes I want to work on and fanfic ideas to play with and it's not like there's nothing in my brain, it's that nothing will COME OUT.

Stupid brain. BAH.

*imitates icon*

And later I have to go to work. *sigh* This day just keeps getting better and better.

I think I need an ice cream cone. It's amazing how many of my problems these days can be solved with an ice cream cone. Mmm-hmm.

As a fellow creative, facing writer's block today as well, I have to recommend a book to you - it changed my creative life.

'The Right to Write' by Julia Cameron.

I'm just about to go out and take myself on an Artist's Date in hope of breaking my inner critic. Then I've got a screenplay to write.

Have faith, just pick up your pen and write. Write anything. Write a shopping list. Just get your pen moving (or start typing - whichever floats your boat!)

At field day today they had a live band. A lanky boy with long floppy curls got up and started dancing with another guy. They went all out! Pulling out every move, dancing synchronous, gleefully in the music. As I was watching and wishing I could be that free and easy when I dance my vision shifted and it was Sam, at the end of his Junior year of HS. Sneaking out for field day, and having a blast because that just would never be Deans gig. Dean is in the corner of the north parking lot getting wasted with the other stoners. No watchful dad, no snarking older brother, just Sam and his friends dancing thier hearts out.
