Jun. 23rd, 2006 09:24 pmI don't get it. I loathe American Idol, but for some reason I turned on America's Got Talent tonight and I can't stop watching. Maybe it's because the variety is sucking me in. AI's a bunch of people in their twenties singing the same kind of music. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but so far tonight I've seen an AMAZING Asian-American group of guys singing four-part harmony, an adorable eight-year-old comic, and a professional finger-snapper.
I've also seen what's possibly one of the worst jugglers I've ever seen in my life, but whatever.
Plus, any show where David Hasselhoff is judging other people's talent just needs to be seen for the irony alone.
EDIT: You know what this show makes me want to write? It makes me want to write a crossover with The Office where Jim convinces Dwight that he has some weird talent and he should try out. And then Dwight goes and tries out, and it turns out really well, and everybody at Dunder-Mifflin just watches the whole situation in a mix of horror and amusement as for some ungodly reason Dwight just keeps advancing into each new round.

Date: 2006-06-24 02:08 am (UTC)There was one fourteen-year-old girl before that I loved who had a voice like an angel. They showed her backstage after the judges fawned all over her and told her how beautiful her voice was (Brandy ADORED her), and she was hugging her parents and they were all crying and ... erm, I may have gotten a little sniffly.
Plus, and this is why I think the story would rock, a few of the contestants who've gotten kicked off have been giving it right back to the judges. Heh. I could just see Dwight trying that. :)
