Heh. I think I scared off my mother in that last phone call.

Mom: Did you send an email to that person (about the newspaper job)?
Me: *groggy* Mom, I've been working since Saturday night, I haven't been able to do anything but eat, sleep, and go to work, I still need to update my resume and write a cover letter, and I'm friggin' tired.
Mom: ... Okaythenbye. *click*

And okay, maybe I sounded annoyed, but I'm sore and tired and stressing myself out for no reason over the dentist situation and I probably sound like I'm pissed to everyone I talk to. I sure as hell got that impression last night at work, because I had to trade off control of my machine with a trainee who can't multitask to save her life, which meant she kept doing one thing at a time when she could have been doing more, and it was setting every single one of my control-freak tendencies on edge.

Plus my mother has a bothersome habit of tossing job postings at my head and my brother's and then bugging us about "Did you fill out an application?" and "Did you go in and give them your resume?" and ARGH, woman, you're giving off a vibe that reeks of overcompensation. Knock it OFF.

In other job-related news, I may have to work on the Fourth of July and I won't know until the night before, which sucks out loud. I mean, it's not like I have anywhere to go and it would be triple-time, but STILL.

My MP3 player always plays "Paperback Writer" when I'm supposed to be working on a story and it just played two different versions of it in a row. Well, screw you, too, Zen.

I forgot to tape The 4400 again last night. Boy, I'm just on a roll this season, aren't I?

Is it really bad that I desperately want Heroes and Jericho to start airing already so I can write fic? They could probably both be awful and I'd still be all giddy. Superpowers and nuclear holocaust? Oh, yeah, I give myself a good day or so after the pilots air before I'm crossing them over.

I really need to see season two of The Office in its entirety because I have an absurd need to write a Dwight-gets-superpowers fic. And maybe Jim could get some, too. Or maybe just Jim, and then the torturing can commence. (Erm, I'm starting to get the impression I should perhaps not work with anyone tonight, or else I will drive them up a wall.)

I'm thinking of doing a Books of Boggs summary on my days off, just so everybody knows what the story's about. Of course, I say that now while groggy from exhaustion, lack of sleep, and my shiny new prescription. Let's see how well that works out on my (regretfully truncated) weekend.

I didn't get to watch it either. And I can't download the link up at 4400eps. So is there going to be a re-airing or is there a reliable download somewhere?

How did I find this journal? Your Shawn/Isabelle fic, which was very hot by the way, was recced over at Shizzabelle and I clicked on your page to see if you reviewed the episode.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Argh, my mom was the same way. I'll admit, in grad school I was so stressed I pretty much couldn't phone my parents without ending up yelling at them. Did I do this about financial aid? talk to this professor? worry about everything that could possibly go wrong at any point for the rest of my life? No, I have a paper to write. And then when I was looking for a job, the *badgering*! I know they mean well, but aren't we adults? If we slack off and wind up (even more) broke, it's our own fault.

Not that I know of, but yeah, it's doing the same for me, too. I don't even care that it feels exactly like an X-Men knockoff ... hell, that's half of the appeal for me right there. Plus, I'm loving the commercial for the cheerleader that can't die (I'm dying to fic her), but I really hope they start doing ones for other characters, too. :)

I don't know -- blond, cheerleader ... I'm thinking she'd be good for Sam, especially if she's thrown herself in a fire and lived. She'd be someone he could tell about the things he's had to do and wouldn't have to worry about (in theory) in regards to the demon attacking again.
