A woman brought a baby to the showing of Superman Returns I just went to. A BABY.

See, I must have missed the memo about Superman Returns being like Rocky Horror in that you should bring props or else I would have brought the last infant survivor of a dead world, too.

The baby slept through the whole movie, but STILL.

The movie, by the way, was awesome. And I finally liked Kevin Spacey in a movie again, which was nice, but then again the last time Bryan Singer directed him he won an Oscar, so it explains a lot.

I ... erm, may be feeling the urge to write fic about it. *shifty eyes*

I once attended a Pearl Jam concert, only ten rows or so from the stage, and the people next to us had brought their baby.

::shrug:: When Peri was 2 weeks old, I took her to see Serenity. She fell asleep the minute the lights went down. As long as the parent's willing to take 'em out if they cry, it's no big deal.

I want to smack people who bring little kids to theaters, but BABIES? That's just ridonkous.

There were at least three babies and four LOUD small children in my showing this afternoon. Fucking people.

She probably just really wanted to see the movie and couldn't get a babysitter, or feels the baby was too young to leave with a sitter. *shrug* As long as the baby was quiet. I don't mind children in theaters; I mind LOUD children in theaters, and I mind parents of said children who don't either get their kids to shut up or make them leave.

I think my big problem was just that no matter how quiet the kid is, I spend the entire movie tense because I'm just waiting for them to go off like a ticking time bomb and it always ruins the movie a little for me like that.

Especially if it's a baby who consistently sleeps right through it. Why pay for a sitter if the kid's going to be out cold the whole time anyway?

And maybe that baby only sleeps during movies, so her poor mother is stuck trolling movie theaters for all eternity the next few years just to get some peace.

Maybe she couldn't find a 'crybaby' session and was just really desperate to see it. Was it a day or evening session? For some reason it would make a difference to my attitude - an evening session, then NO WAY should there be a baby there.
