... but I don't, and I figure one of you fine people should have, so now I politely ask for your assistance. :)

It was a website with a red background listing hauntings and spooky occurrances in the United States divided by state, and it was really thorough. I know it was linked on a couple of SPN comms, and I thought I bookmarked it, but ... well, I'm a dumbass.

Anybody remember that one?

(Yeah, I'm working on my [livejournal.com profile] spn_50states fic. How can you tell? ;))

*****

I still want my Dean Winchester Citibank "Identity Theft" commercial, damn it.

YAY! That's the one. Thanks! *hugs*

(I think I spent about three hours on that site one day. Talk about inspirational. There goes my night. HEEEE. :))

I totally take issue with that site just because it fucked up my favorite haunted place, Quaker Cemetery in Perryopolis, PA. Quaker has so many urban legends attatched to it... and none of them are on that site, instead it's something stupid I've never heard before.

*pokes the website*

Kind of have to agree. The one for Perry is lame, as are the meager and incorrect offerings for Farmington and Uniontown - the courthouse one is completely wrong. They missed a massive amount of tales from the mountains.

True that. Southwestern PA is overflowing with ghost tales and legends and barely a quarter made it onto the site, and the ones that did are butchered beyond belief.

Yeah, but the website guys aren't researching this stuff, they're just collecting the stories from other people. If they're not there, it's just because people haven't sent them in yet.

And it seems like the ones that are there get updated with corrected or new information if someone reports the mistakes.

In other words ... hint, hint. *pokes* ;)

But... but... I'm LAZY.

*g*

No, I actually was thinking about changing the Quaker info, I'm just going to ask around a bit before I do, make sure I get as much of the legend as I can.

I'm horribly tempted to start up a comm for SPN fic writers where people can post local legends and hantings and stuff that's more up-to-date and tagged by state.

But it's probably already been done.

And, you know ... LAZY. *g*

If it's already been done, don't you think we would've heard of it? HMM?

I mean, hee. That does sound quite interesting, though. If you decide to do it, let me know, I'd love to check it out.

Well, I'm not a SPN writer, but there are some great haunted places around here(Kentucky). The old mental hospital comes to mind. Maybe it could just be a general comm?

It's an interesting site, true. I stumbled across it about, hmmm, six or seven years ago? Back when MTV was doing that reality-ghost-investigation show thing with teenagers.

Unfortunately, from what I've been able to check out of its things that are local to me (near Silicon Valley in California), it's largely inaccurate when related to actual local legends. But for plot bunnies and fanfic and the like, providing potential inspiration, it's passable.

Well, as far as I can tell, they update with new info if you email and tell them corrected information, although I'm not exactly sure the last time they did that.

now that the link has been recovered I may have to check it out. Also. That commercial? I still wan it to happen too.

I'm saying. A letter should be written. A petition made. It could be awesome.

I want you to know that every time they have one of these on, especially the one w/the little old ladies and the bikes, I always think of Dean and Sam b/c of you. This is definitely not a bad thing. I can hear Dean in my head.
