"Those That Trespass"? Heeeee.
Sep. 10th, 2006 06:36 pmAm going through the Veronica Mars episodes I missed last season. *happy sigh*
I love Keith and Wallace and Lamb and Cliff (CLIFF! Oh, how I missed Cliff!) and Vinnie Van Lowe (*snickers*) and Dick and Mac and everybody.
The only problem I have right now having been completely spoiled for last season is actually watching Cassidy's character development as the season goes on knowing full well what the finale brings. I mean, I'm the kind of person who reads a lot of true crime and occasionally clicks through the Crime Library when she's bored and will watch any of the crime dramas they have on A&E or the History Channel. I own serial killer trading cards. I know serial killers and mass murderers and notorious murders really well -- if there were a board game for the history of murder, I'd clean up. And the way Cassidy behaves all season just does not feel like a mass murderer. Aaron behaved like a murderer, Woody acts like a child molester, but Cassidy, no matter how sociopathic he is supposed to be, doesn't display the right patterns to work for me. I know they were going for a "I never suspected it was him! He was such a nice kid!" vibe, but the thing is, it would be working better for me if they'd gone more for a "Actually, that explains a LOT" vibe from day one. Nothing overt or anything, but still.
Aaaaaaand now I want to play with my serial killer cards.
I only get to watch until nine, though, because that 9/11 special is on and as much as I loathe the "Let's put on a million documentaries and specials about it so NO ONE EVER FORGETS!" mentality, I really thought that special was one of the good ones. Yes, wingnuts, I'd much rather watch the footage of the actual heroes saving lives while understandably cursing up a storm than I would three hours of bullshit "docudrama." I'm such a terrible American. *eye roll*

You'll no doubt see as the season progresses. : )

Date: 2006-09-11 03:01 am (UTC)I think the show really suffered because they didn't seem to have any idea which way they were going with all that. Maybe if they had gone with him as just scared and everything spiraling out of control, I would have bought that a whole lot more than the evil thing. Oh well, there was enough good stuff in Season 2 to keep me interested for Season 3, even if they did botch that storyline.
