I have a funny feeling that tonight at work, I'm going to be saying, "Dude, it's a joke," out of total frustration in relation to the two people I'm training. The girl who works on the same machine with me told one of them that she really liked him so she wouldn't try to get him fired, and the other trainee told me that she was going to go quit because of it and tell the boss why. Dude, KIDDING. Hello?

I signed up for two days of overtime this week immediately following my shift, making it a six-day, twelve-hour-a-day work week. Kill me now. (I want the money for my trip, but I seriously hope they call off at least one of my days of overtime, because holy crap, my weekend. *whimpers*)

Hey, guess what I watched?

Still not giving a damn who the hell Meredith hooks up with.

Actually, I take that back. Let her and Derek run off together. I don't want her tainting McVet, and it frees up Addison to have very-VERY-bad-idea sex with Alex.

Aw, Izzie. Just lying there the entire episode on the floor like that, and the way Cristina kind of backed off when she was describing sitting shiva and mentioned no clean clothes, and those flashbacks of her all pretty and pink and happy. Although, all it did was make me want AU happy-ending-with-Denny fic in the WORST way, which was what I'd thought was what I'd wanted before but was apparently a couple of steps past that.

Derek giving George that look when he didn't return Callie's "I love you" made me want to punch him, even if he didn't know the whole story. Dude, he told Callie a day ago in show-time that he needed more time before he could say the words. Twenty-four hours is not nearly enough, attack of the plague or not. I have faith in him.

And the capper:

"Don't ever die."
"I'll do my best."

Oh, you guys. Cristina and Burke are trying to KILL ME INSTEAD. *sobs*

And also ...

Meh.

Okay, look, it's more of a personal problem than anything else, although the aw-shucks small town stuff is getting to me because it feels like something written by someone who's never been a small town. I like my apocalypses bloody and tragic, even more so than a few shot deputies and a lunchbox tracheotomy, and I like my nuclear apocalypses up close and personal. I'm going to be much happier when people start getting radiation poisoning, if they ever do considering they might try to go all Lost on us and have it be something else entirely, and when they start dropping like flies. Yes, I'm a sick bastard, but "Look, I can see a mushroom cloud on the horizon!" is a bit too far outside the action for my tastes. Not that it'll make me stop watching, because I'll take a bad apocalypse over none at all, but still.

Depending when they're timing this sucker, I have less faith they were nuking Denver and more faith they were trying to hit NORAD.

Something about the Atlanta tape sounds suspicious to me, though, if it's supposed to be a nuclear attack.

I want to sit down and really get into working on the Books of Boggs, but I can't right now. Stupid six-day work week. *headsmack*

Not that "Jericho" looked much like Kansas to begin with. OK, yes, flat open spaces. But that was still *WAY* too hilly. And you. Can. Not. See. Mountains. In. Kansas. Period. Denver is not visible from Kansas either, nor is Colorado Springs (NORAD).

That being said, yeah, that's small-town Kansas all right....

It's probably shot in Canada, like Smallville is. Catch Hollywood filming in middle-America? *eyeroll* Yeah, right.

Other shows at least make an effort. The scenes in Lawrence in "Supernatural" look like Lawrence (hell, the Winchester house looked like the block I used to live on, no less!). At least "Jericho" sort of gets it right (unlike "X-Files" which had a mountain where there most definitely is not a mountain in Kansas.....and there's not one any closer than eight hours away).
