I, um, still like Jeffrey's collection.

*ducks things*

Well, I do. Sadly enough, I'd actually wear most of it.

As for Uli's collection, she didn't use all prints! YAY! I mean, it's her thing so you can't expect any, but it wasn't just halter dresses and prints, so WOOHOO!

Laura's collection is still my favorite, though. I wouldn't be able to pull off that sleeveless kind-of-see-through lacy number, but GIMME. And the gorgeous dress Camilla was in with the pretty yellow belt makes me all sorts of happy. I want to hug it and pet it.

As for Michael, I love that man, but his collection really makes me want to double-check and make sure my tits are still in my top. (They are.) It does look a hell of a lot better than it did in pictures, but it's still scary. Particularly that gold bikini number, which just ... I'm sorry, but NO. In fact, there's not enough NO in the world.

DAMN IT.

Well, he earned it. He's a ginormous ASSHOLE, but he earned it.

Michael's SCARED me. WTF, MICHAEL, YOU CAN DO BETTER.

I think Uli's was my favorite...which pains me because her stuff is usually not my thing.

I think Michael was taken over by a pod person. Seriously, WTF? (I had this horrible thought the other day that during the run of the show he was simply giving the judges what they wanted instead of what he usually does, in which case, noooooooo.)

Uli's was gorgeous, too, and I wouldn't mind her winning at all, either. I think the thing is that even though she has her signature prints and styles, at least her signatures are pretty, and she made a point of going outside her norm.

Anyone but Jeffrey can win. On principle ALONE. His collection was good...but...man. He's JEFFREY.

I know! I'm so conflicted. I loved the hell out of his clothes, but ... well, HE made them.

*clutches you*

I'm trying to reason it this way -- if Jeffrey wins, at least he earned it with his talent. God knows I'm not about to wear his personality.

But ... *crosses fingers for Uli*

It does seem to be between Jeffrey and Uli, doesn't it? Come ooooon, Uli!

Ouch, did you hear that comment from Jeffrey about Michael's behind-the-scene comments about strip clubs and ass? Because ... *sigh* That doesn't exactly make my theory about him giving the judges what they want rather than his usual style look any less believable.

Oh, well. He did earn it, even if he is a GIGANTIC ASSHAT.

No, no. I've come to grips with my Jeffrey-hatred. I did it by thinking that he's a talented man whose designs are not for me and that sometimes getting sober and getting help can also sometimes turn you into a dick.

To the wire, I was thinking that maybe Uli would win. But then it's like, "Jeffrey!" and I'm all, okay, this kinda makes sense because he was the most innovative and they are looking for the "next" top American designer.

I think the best part of Jeffery's show was him stopping to kiss his son. Which just about killed me. But the presentation with that music practically made me fall asleep.

Oh, Michael. I knew it was coming, honey. D:

I don't know that I'd wear it, but I did like Jeffrey's collection a lot.

That's pretty much my thoughts as well. :D

Same here. *sighs* I can't stand the guy, but I can't say I don't understand why he won or think he didn't deserve it.

I'm not a big fan of Jeffrey but I thought his collection rocked. Loved almost everything especially the last dress. Hated the blue dress but whatever, there was at least one thing I hated in everyones collection.

Ah, what was Michael thinking? What a horrid collection.

Am I the only person who loved that blue dress?

Nope, I did too. I really liked it and every other piece in the collection a lot (the zipper dress? GIMME), although I do agree with the judges that maybe it didn't fit into the collection that well.

*laugh* Michael...just damn, boy. It just...wow. I've seen hookers who would think his lacked some taste.

Laura's was pretty, but she really didn't show as much range as I was kind of hoping for.

When we got down to the final two, I kinda thought: "okay, Uli's got it." And I was good with that.

Then, they said Jeffrey and ...wow. I loved his collection, though. And he's damn cute with his kid. *grin*

I might kinda have liked him a little. *looks shiftily around*

Toward the end Jeffrey wasn't so bad. I mean, okay, he was bitchy, but considering how antagonizing everybody was towards him, it's not a shocker. And in retrospect, when you're watching the mom episode, Angela's mom wasn't exactly the easiest person in the world to deal with, and Jeffrey's never been one to put up with anyone's shit.

Not that I excuse all of his behavior or anything, but still.

I actually did rather like Jeffrey, and have almost all season. I think that the Bravo editors are wizards and that you can't trust editing. All the interviews with/about him made me rather like the guy, and sometimes I wonder about what we don't see....

However, I would have given the prize to Uli. Why? Because Jeffrey is already established with a line and doesn't need start up capital.

Now that the season's over, I think I like Jeffrey a little more (and Michael a little less) on a personal level because of their collections. Jeffrey's is exactly what I expected to see from him should he get to the finale -- I don't think at all that he was being anything other than himself when he was designing throughout the season.

Michael, on the other hand ... *sigh* Between his collection and Jeffrey's comments about what Michael said behind the scenes, I'm pretty sure there was an element of not-being-himself to Michael's behavior that Jeffrey wasn't giving us at all. Yeah, Jeffrey was a jerk, but I honestly don't think that was him behaving any other different than he would in any other day of his career.

I loved Laura's collection, but I thought Uli, honestly, had this one in the bag. While not personally my style, Uli presented an amazing collection. Jeffrey's looked contrived, impractical, and unattractive, to me. That green and white striped outfit with the zippers? It looked like she was wearing a cushion cover for an outdoor lounge chair.

Man, I wish Michael had chosen to make his collection from garbage, like that challenge. He did better with that than with the fabric! I think he just got stuck in this "Pam-Motherfucking Grier" phase.

From: [identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com
Oh, I don't think that Michael got stuck in his Pam-motherfucking-Grier phase -- that outfit was sexy, stylish, and something I'd totally wear even now. I think he slipped back into his same old rap-video style, which is just sad.

From: [identity profile] idadebeautreux.livejournal.com
The Pam Grier outfit was hot, and he seemed to be channeling a lot of that style and attitude in his collection, but yeah, he seemed to slump back a bit - maybe because he wasn't getting reactions and input from other designers and Tim Gunn this time around? I just wish he had put out one of his super sexy bustiers on the runway. He rocks at those!

From: [identity profile] apocalypsos.livejournal.com
I wish he'd gone less "Street Safari" and more "Urban Sophistication". Show me the Pam Grier outfit, that gorgeous dog challenge dress, that asymmetrical black-and-white dress -- let me see those again, not the stuff they told him at the beginning of the season they disliked in his portfolio.

Date: 2006-10-19 09:38 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] idadebeautreux.livejournal.com
Definitely. I think he would have had much better results if he'd done that - and maybe if he'd channelled some of that "Urban vacationing in the Hamptons" vibe he had in the jetsetter challenge, too.

HI JEN I MISS YOU!!!!! (do you have one N or 2? *tilts head*)

anyway, after all that build up, im kind of um, well, to quote SPN, underwhelmed. seriously, nothing really made me go, OMG. but i adored parts of both jeffery and uli's collections. lauras was very HER but there were some parts i liked.

poor michael. he tried too hard.

MISS YOU TOO! (Heh. Usually two. ;))

Yeah, this season and last, the collections haven't exactly had me squeeing at the top of my lungs, but that might be because Jay's collection in season one set the bar REALLY high for me. I wanted every single piece in that collection and goddamn it, I would have found somewhere to wear them all if I'd been given a chance. Yes, including the headphones.

That purple outfit with the leggings and miniskirt that he designed is quite possibly my favorite outfit ever on the show. WAAAANT. *grabbyhands*
