apocalypsos: (boo books)

You know, I'm sitting here thinking about the idea I came up with last night for my mother's other Christmas gift and the passel of presents I saw in the game room the last time I went up there and that stupid article from earlier, and you know what?

A pack of gel pens, a graph paper notebook, and a gift card for a meal at Panera.

That's what I'd like for Christmas. The rest is nice and I'm grateful for everything I receive, but that's it. Sometimes I wonder if anybody actually believes me when I say that in real life, but it's true.

That would make me perfectly happy for one whole afternoon, not to mention a side trip to Borders which is only around the curve in the road.

Books and writing and yummy food and a nice place to write. Mmm. :)

When I told my sister that all I really wanted for Christmas was pens and notebooks, she said, "Ugh, that's boring. You're no help," and I spent the next five minutes wondering exactly how we could be related.

No one believes me when I ask for gel pens and Mead spiral journals either. And, honestly, I'd be giddy as the proverbial school girl if someone picked that up for me.

Hope you get Panera for Xmas.

I keep telling people ... paper and pens and I'm a happy camper. One of these days I'm going to make a great girlfriend for someone very broke, because I'd much rather have paper, pens, books, and movies over jewelry, flowers, or anything else really expensive.

Heh. I told my brother that if he really wanted to get me something for Christmas I'd love a gift card for Panera so hopefully he will. :)

I know I've gotten through to my mom at least a little. When we were at Sam's Club a few weeks back she held up a HUGE package of crayons and said, "Want this for Christmas?" I shook my head and grabbed the 100-different-colors set of gel pens that I'd started salivating over the second I got into the aisle and spotted it.

So now there'll be a hundred different pretty, pretty colorful gel pens waiting for me under the Christmas tree. :)
