Glutton for punishment ... that's me.
Jan. 14th, 2007 05:55 pmWhy do I resort to going over to the TWoP boards for Top Chef?
Oh, right, because I'm desperate for spoilers for this week.
1. Sam says "uncomfortable" in the Bravo preview. I don't know why everybody's over there debating whether it was that or "unethical" -- it didn't sound at all like he said "unethical" and it doesn't even make sense in the context of "It was unethical for all parties involved" if it's talking about the prank, since obviously the pranked one wouldn't be doing anything unethical.
2. Yes, cutting someone else's hair without their permission is unethical. Dude, it's not right. Just because frat boys in college do it all the time and get away with it doesn't exempt it from being unethical.
3. Do you honestly expect that Ilan, Elia, and possibly Sam shaved their heads at some point because they were pissed they couldn't get a haircut during the run of the show? Seriously?! Who does that? Ilan would shave his head knowing full well he'd have to wear his dorky lime-green-doo-rag-and-white-hoodie combo in confessionals? Elia really wanted to be saddled with a headband and a wig during her confessionals? Sam couldn't wait until the end of the show to hose down his greasy locks and chop them off? You're trying to argue that three different people reached the conclusion of, "You mean I can't get a trim for four straight weeks?! Fuck this shit! I'm shaving my head!"
Come ON.
Methinks I need to see this week's episode just so I can stop obsessing over it. *growls*

Date: 2007-01-15 03:25 pm (UTC)And all I can think is:
1. Have these people BEEN to high school? Bullies don't need any more reason to hate someone than a flash of weakness.
2. You're telling me that Bravo has a season's worth of footage of Marcel kicking infants and setting fire to puppies and WHATEVER and hasn't used it? Because right now he's looking like a victim and if they really had some good reason for all of this shit he's going through other than arrogance and social ineptitude I'd be surprised if they hadn't shown it.
3. Dude, I'm watching the first episode right now and they are all being belligerent and reactionary towards him on day one. If he's so freaking evil they would sure as hell be hard-pressed to prove that after knowing him for twelve hours.
