So I cracked and bought a new pet.

This is Emmett's new little brother Elliot.



It goes to show how much Emmett has grown because Elliot's tiny in comparison. And the part that keeps killing me is that Elliot (who so far is friendlier and more open to being held) keeps wagging his tail like a happy puppy. It's the best. :)

Here's what the last ten minutes have looked like --

Me: *puts Elliot in cage*
Elliot: *bounds right up to Emmett where he's hiding in the bathhouse* Hi! I'm your new roommate!
Emmett: *squeaks* FUCK OFF AND DIE, SHORT STACK!
Elliot: Okay! *bounds off to explore, tail wagging the entire time*
Emmett: *grumblegrumble* Miserable little punk, thinks he can just move in and be adorable and ... *grumblegrumble*
Elliot: *sneaks up behind bathhouse, possibly giggling the whole way*
Emmett: Hey, where'd he go? *crawls out of bathhouse, peering around*
Elliot: HA, HA, TRICKED YOU! WHEEEEEEE! *dives into bathhouse, rolls around in dust for ten minutes*
Emmett: *grumblegrumble*

The downside of going to buy Elliot was that I discovered that my ATM card must have gotten zapped because it's no longer working anymore. Brilliant.
