Oh, man, nobody move me.

OW. Every freaking muscle in my body hurts. This whole having a job thing needs to stop yesterday, if only so that I can go one week without sleeping an entire day away due to the fact that I have no other option than to slip into a quick and dirty coma.
*yawns*
Okay, have set up the Heroes torrent so that when I wake up, I can watch it. *grabbyhands*
Not like I didn't already spoil myself for it, though. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I'm sorry, that was wrong. How about this one?
I WIN AT FANDOM! WOO!
(What? I never get this shit right, okay, especially not from the pilot onward. Let me soak in it for a while.)
Wait, wait, I've got another one.
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I swear to God I am not laughing at the Paire wank that's sure to turn up in the next week. Except maybe I am a little, because even though the people on my friends list who ship them are sane (thank GOD) and I ship them too (although I believed full well from the very beginning that Nathan was Claire's bio-dad, which, hey, at least I see the 'cest, all right?), a good percentage of the Paire shippers on the fic comms seem a little ... er, I'm trying to come up with the right description for it, and the only one that springs to mind is, "cutely militant." Which is not quite the stuffed-bunnies-at-boot-camp comparison you'd think.
You do realize, though, that this requires fic from me. SO MUCH FIC.
Yeah, 'cause God knows I wasn't already writing Nathan as Claire's bio-dad. WHEEEEE. :)

Date: 2007-02-06 05:19 pm (UTC)You know what my problem's been with the Paire shippers? It's that for the most part, whenever I've told a Paire shipper that I think Nathan is Claire's bio-dad, they WILL NOT HEAR IT. No matter that one of her parents had to be one of the other characters based on the way that they were connecting everyone together, no matter that the only female in the group who could be her mother is Niki and that's only if we were REALLY pushing it, no matter that when you take all of the male characters that we know of and cancel candidates out by race and age Nathan is the only realistic option. It was practically common sense from a storytelling point of view that he be her father.
The thing is that the typical Paire shipper that I've seen is anti-slash, anti-incest, anti-anything that's not some sweet het love story (regardless of the age difference or that in a lot of stories I've seen Peter carries on a sexual relationship while she's still underage and it's supposed to be all romantic). And that's not a bad thing to like ships like that, but it's called morbid amusement, y'all. HEEEE. :)

Date: 2007-02-07 09:39 am (UTC)You forgot between 14 and 17 yrs old. Because the sane Paire shippers I've met have all been adults who realize a)it's just a TV show b)it's just a ship and c)it doesn't really matter if they get together for real.
Most of the people on certain comms are all teenaged girls
and Harmonians!. So I think that adds to the way they see the ship. I mean, ifMiloPeter will go out with Claire, then maybe he'll go out with them too!no subject

Date: 2007-02-06 03:32 pm (UTC)Now I just want Peter to be adopted so Paire is slightly less creepy.
It would make sense, seeing as Nathan seems to have inherited this Asshole gene that Peter seems to have missed.

Date: 2007-02-06 05:24 pm (UTC)I've had a few people tell me they thought it would be Linderman, and I was like, "They wouldn't whip out Linderman halfway through the first season for this! They're saving him for either the very end of the season finale!"
And then when people would suggest it was Papa Petrelli, while I thought it made for a viable second option, part of me was screaming, "NO, NO, NO! Claire being adopted doesn't work as a storytelling twist if at least one of her parents wasn't already someone we've met!"
Aaaaaaand then my inner child would throw a tantrum. :)
