Spring, right? That's coming soon, yes?
Mar. 16th, 2007 03:07 pmSo we're getting a foot of snow tonight and I just called off even though I have no more personal days left. Fuck it. I'm not driving forty miles in this. Once again I reiterate my stance that what I really need to do is develop the ability to teleport. It would solve so very, very much.
The down side is that skipping work tonight means I might not get to be able to buy the PDA I wanted to pick up, if only to save my money for bills and stuff. I just really want to get something I could work on my stories on during my lunches and breaks at work without having to lug around the Ginormous Phone Book-Sized WIP Manuscript of Dooooooom.
In fandom news, I've got Grey's Anatomy (which I have finished watching), Ugly Betty (which I just started), and Supernatural (which I'm saving for last) on my hard drive.
You know, I would be thrilled beyond measure by the whole George/Izzie thing if Izzie hadn't spent the last few weeks acting repugnant, even for someone who's supposedly jealous. I just keep thinking of that little fish in Finding Nemo who introduces himself with, "I'M OBNOXIOUS!" I don't know, maybe the pairing is better executed in fic but her waking up beside him naked just made me cringe when theoretically it's only supposed to make Izzie cringe.
And if they've been working up to the whole George/Izzie thing I hate that they've been doing it at the expense of Callie's character. Callie, who is beyond awesome with anyone who is not Izzie and now George. It's annoying. I can kind of see the explanation coming about Callie's parents and her money and why she was living in the hospital coming -- they had a fight, she didn't want to use their money, yadda yadda.
The Meredith-and-her-dad thing was a nice sweet plotline, and I died when she was like, "It's not like this around here," and Cristina just looked confused and said, "Yes, it is." *snickers* And the porch swing! AWWWWW.
I'm still floating on my Alex-is-the-babydaddy thing, and as soon as the swelling goes down he's going to be all, "Oh, damn." But it's probably going to be something simpler like he falls for her and the baby and then it turns out she's got, like, some rich handsome sweetie of a husband and ten adorable moppets at home. I'm sure the writing staff will start harshing my buzz any minute now.
I want Cristina with Snarky Doc. No surprise there.

As for Ugly Betty, Claire said, "This is some family," and a Heroes/Ugly Betty crossover idea popped into my head. I suppose it could be something tame like some professional dinner between two old rich family friends but instead my brain is all, "Peter and Nathan recognize that Daniel and Alexis are fucking and vice versa over dinner." Hearts and flowers to the person who actually writes that plotbunny and isn't me, yes? *eyes

I have a feeling this episode is going to prompt me to finish that crackfic I started and still haven't gotten done.

I haven't gotten to start watching Supernatural yet, but I knew the twist from the minute I read the episode summary. *shrugs*

Date: 2007-03-16 10:39 pm (UTC)I almost couldn't watch last night - it was like knowing a train wreck was coming but unable to do anything about it.

Date: 2007-03-17 06:45 am (UTC)I saw the twist a couple minutes in, but I still liked the episode; it didn't really ruin my enjoyment of it. Of course, with Sam and Dean to look at, I'm not sure what (other than maybe the reappearance of Cassie) could really RUIN my enjoyment. :)
