Okay, look, I only need two things from a Transformers movie:

1. Optimus Prime needs to KICK FUCKING ASS.
2. Lots of shit needs to blow right the hell up.

Check, and double-check. \o/

Seriously, I spent the entire movie trying to restrain my squealing because I played with my Transformers way more than I ever played with my Barbies. (I mostly ran those over with my Tonka trucks. Heh.) And I swear the entire audience was just dying for Optimus Prime to show up. A movie about the Transformers should just not have been that much fun at ALL.

*goes back to trying in vain to restrain my spazzing*

OMG I SQUEED throughout the entire movie. I WAS FREAKIN Awesome. Exactly what a fourth of July movie should be.

Loved:

1) Bumblebee. He is the car every teenage girl needs to have. And some middleaged ones, too. Okay, me.
2) "Can I ride you home? I mean...."
3) "The parents are annoying. Can I eliminate them?"
4) Hiding under the coffee table in an "earthquake" without spilling a drop of the wine, even though you're pretty much wasted.
5) "Disgusting!" *flick*

Oh, man, Bumblebee was KILLING me. When he was playing the songs to convey what he meant, I couldn't stop laughing. And then when Mikaela was standing over the engine holding up the hood, all I could think was, "Oh, she is SO Dean Winchester's dream girl."

She is! She so is.

M and I were trying to remember the first song, about giving her a ride, and we totally blanked. We got the other two, "Sexual Healing" (HEE!) and "Baby Come Back" *dies* but I can't remember the first one....

What got the boyfriend and I squealing was "ONE SHALL STAND AND ONE SHALL FALL."

Agent Megatron of Rivendell ripped Jazz in half. This is my sad face. T_T

Also, is it just me, or was Bumblebee cooler before he upgraded to the newer model of car? I totally want one. An old beat-up one. With a "BEE-YOTCH" and disco ball on the rear view. Right now.

Heh. I was wishing that instead of a 2008 model he'd turned into a fully restored classic model -- the paint job gleaming, the upholstery perfect, etc. -- but I get why they couldn't.

'cos the car manufacturers would have whined about the movie not pimping their new model of shiny? :D

Oh! I was flipping through the imdb page for the movie last night. WAKKO WARNER AND BUSTER BUNNY ARE TRANSFORMERS. AHAHAHAHAHA AWESOME.

I'll make book.

How long until [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess writes a Supernatural story where the Impala is a transformer?

As someone who never had a transformer and never watched the show, I enjoyed that immensely. I had to be dragged and then I had to eat crow when I admitted how much that moved rocked. I understand the obsession now.

There is an Impala as transformer story. Look What My Baby Can Do (http://dramaphile.livejournal.com/135742.html) by [profile] dramaphile if anyone cares.

I was actually mildly disappointed- more in the script and flat characters than anything. But the battles were fucking ridiculous and the Transformers were brilliant. I loved the little transformer that snuck onto Air Force One. :D

"You'll love it. It has mazes, and places that you can color, and pop-ups."

"Sleep good, handsome man!"

I have to make SOME icon from this movie, I just haven't decided if it's gonna be Shia or one of the 'Bots.

Wait, you really thought the script and the characters might be good in a Transformers movie directed by Michael Bay? Really? My expectations in both plot and character for this movie were so low the fact that they had any at all was good enough for me.

(Honestly, considering what he did to Pearl Harbor, I'd prefer Michael Bay never touch anything with an in-depth plot or intricate characters ever again. He does damn fine with action sequences but is crap at anything remotely resembling decent writing.)

Nah, I knew it was going to be brainless, but I was naively hoping for more. It just felt uninspired... more than anything else I have seen from Bay. I think because I saw Die Hard 4 the other day I was going in expecting something equal to it. Sadly it wasn't. Not that it was bad it just wasn't not all I was hoping for.

And yeah, Bay does amazing action sequences. I was happy that he laid off the uber slow-mo thing than in the past. I was waiting the whole time for one of those epic pans in slow motion that showed something getting the shit blown out of it. I was not disappointed :P

My best friend, Amanda, whom I do adore, went to the movie bitching about how she had to watch a "stupid guy bam!bam!boom! movie" with her boyfriend. I didn't go 'cause Abby couldn't go.

... we went to see Disturbia today since it was only $1.. and they had the trailer.

I swear I could SEE the fucking hearts pop into her eyes when she whispered, "Optimus Prime".

I need to see it now, omg I do.

When Bumblebee drove away with Sam and Michaela, and Barricade was running after him, jumped, and did that quick shift back into KICK ASS POLICE CAR... well, that's when I got goosebumps.

I loved it. I'm a collector, I have almost all of the movie toys already. Can't wait for the next one. More Bumblebee. More Barricade. Plus, hey, Starscream survived, of course he's going to try to take over the Decepticons, and fail miserably.

Oh... ummm... SPOILER ALERT! Sorry.

I KNOW! I was going to take my brother but he didn't have enough money for him and neither did I, so after I went I stopped at my parents' place and went straight up to his bedroom and ...

Me: (perfectly calm) "Hey, I ended up going to see Transformers."
Him: "Oh, yeah, how was it?"
Me: *grabs his shoulders and shakes his shoulders* OHMIGOD IT WAS SO FUCKING AWESOME AND OPTIMUS PRIME WAS PERFECT AND YOU TOTALLY HAVE TO SEE IT 'CAUSE IT FUCKING ROCKED!!!
Him: "Uh, ooo-kay."

Heeeee. :)

*snorts* Well, being 2000 miles from my brother produced SOME variation, but my experience was a lot similar.

(on phone)
Me: So... Have you seen Transformers yet?
Him: No, not yet. Did you?
Me: Yeah. Me and The Roommate went today.
Him: Oh, how was it?
Me: ZOMG, IT WAS SO AWESOME YOU NEED TO GO SEE IT RIGHT NOW BECAUSE WHOEVER WROTE IT REALLY LOVES THE TRANSFORMERS AND IT WAS SO AWESOME!
Him: I might go see that then. We were thinking about seeing it today.
Me: YOU SHOULD! OMGOMGOMGSQUEE!
Him: O-kay...

It was AWESOME. Except Michael Bay loves him some moving shots because I felt like I was in a blender the first two thirds of the movie and had to close my eyes with some of those moving shots. *green*

But hell yeah. AWESOME. I loved that slo-mo of Ironhide somersaulting over people to get a few shots off at the Decepticon. Oh man. Goosebumps. Sheer beauty. And they did it TWICE. *flail*
