Weekend, ho!
Jul. 17th, 2007 08:47 am-- I was horribly tempted to come home from work today, go directly to my parents' house, and laze about in their hot tub for a good long while before I go get my haircut, but after stopping by and talking to my mom, I changed my mind. Seems my uncle showed up the other day while my brother was in his room and took our four-year-old cousin into the hot tub for fifteen minutes or so without asking or without bothering to go inside and say hi to Bryan. So, yeah, my mom pretty much reamed him a new one for that idiocy.
-- Have I ever mentioned how amused I am by people reviewing BPAL scents? I think it's partly because I just don't get buying perfumes scent unsniffed and partly because everybody's so damn serious about it. Oh, and also because none of them ever sound like something I'd like to smell like, unless there's a whole line of BPAL scents that make you smell like baking goods that I don't know about.
-- Hey, guess where I'm going tomorrow? My buddy Dwayne and I are going to the Mutter Museum! \o/ Finally, I'm getting my sorry ass to the medical museum! SCORE.
-- The Potterdammerung is rumbling on the horizon. Eeeeeexcellent.
-- I'm trying to decide whether or not to do the Blogathon. Hmm. I wonder if I can even stay up for twenty-four straight hours without randomly napping like usual.
-- You know when you see or hear someone talking about a person you know can bring the wank, and all you want to do is shake them and say, "Oh, sweetie, RUN THE OTHER WAY"? I'm on my third moment like that in the past week and a half. (Granted, two of them involved the same damn wanker, but still.)
-- Okay, so remember when the Sci-Fi Channel was new and shiny, and they did this thing where every day at noon or something they'd play some schlocky cheap-o sci-fi or fantasy show from the '70s or '80s that only lasted about five minutes before it got cancelled? So for like two weeks or so you could settle in an eat your lunch while watching the entire run of some terrible show with bad production values, horrible acting, and ridiculous plotting that was so awful it was brilliant? Wasn't that fucking AWESOME?!
In completely unrelated news, the entire run of Voyagers! is now on DVD. You really don't want to know the noise I made when I saw that.

Date: 2007-07-17 01:43 pm (UTC)Well, actually...
I thought buying perfume unsniffed was weird, too - and then somebody sent me a handful of samples, and I realized that there's a huge difference between what they smell like in the bottle and what they smell like on the skin. And then I discovered a couple of scents that smelled OMGSOGOOD on me, and that was that.
I mean, hell, I have a perfume that smells like Irish coffee and old books. It makes me happy. (Plus, it's called 'Miskatonic University', which is just a bonus.) :)

Date: 2007-07-17 03:18 pm (UTC)On the other hand, I love Fyrinnae. The food scents smell utterly edible, and don't seem to change no matter who they're on. Kisses from Jack Frost smells like you're wearing a york peppermint pattie, I swear.

Date: 2007-07-17 07:22 pm (UTC)...but "Bliss" makes me smell like chocolate. It is awesome. It becomes overpowering really quickly, but just a pinkytip dab behind each ear and people keep thinking they're catching whiffs of dessert.

Date: 2007-07-17 09:40 pm (UTC)I just made the same noises. I LOVED that show. I had a poster of Jon Erik Hexum hanging on the ceiling above my bed.
This news just made my day.

Date: 2007-07-17 11:24 pm (UTC)There probably is.
But until I find it, I will continue wearing vanilla extract. I smell like a giant sugar cookie! :D

Date: 2007-07-18 01:58 am (UTC)XD I am one of those people. Oh, fandom, it never changes, even when it's about perfume. XD But there is indeed a list of foody scents somewhere...like around here for recommendations. ;P
