But, as I’ve written, a woman who doesn’t take long to agree to repeatedly put a needle in her body, generally doesn’t take long before she acquiesces to putting other things into her body. In other words, she’s easy.

Obviously my four tattoos mean I'm a whore. And I get bonus points for the Poe signature across my lower back! SCORE.

So I'm awful at being a virgin but I'm so good at being a slut I don't even have to have sex to do it. Awesome!

I said:
I love how there’s a bunch of assumptions made here:

First, that having a tattoo makes you easy.
Then, that all women are going to have children, or at least the good ones are.
Then, that you MUST HAVE AN EPIDURAL TO HAVE CHILDREN BECAUSE OH THE PAIN.

Not mentioning here the points ( a )one could not have children ( b )one could just not have an epidural if they were that concerned for the safety of their child …which is actually better for the child since you can feel when to push, etc ( c ) you can go around the tattoo, as it mentions in the article ( d )the fact that epidurals are BY NATURE potentially a risk to children because they’re putting chemicals in your bloodstream and can cause such things as stroke and sepsis, as well as infant death…

But then this is someone who thinks that tattoos = sluts; I’m not expecting a plethora of logic.

That article almost makes me want a lower back tattoo. Just so I can be inyourface about the trampstamp stereotype. Damn. (I hate that it's an assumed position even among tattoo artists and indie kids. It's ridiculous and completely anti-feminist to base your opinion of someone on WHERE THEY GOT A TAT.)

The thing that irritates me is that so many people assume that if you get a tat on your lower back, you're clearly just following the crowd. I planned my lower back tat out YEARS before it became the in thing to do, dammit. I should get some street cred for that. ;)

And you've made some fabulous points in your comment, though unfortunately they will probably go right over those idiots' heads.

That irritates me too. What's your tattoo of? (Have I asked you this before?)

Haha, probably. Side affect of going to a women's college: people actually question the childbirth system in america here. I forget that not everyone knows that epidurals are...not actually good for you, nor is having a baby on your back, etc.

Of course, one could just not have children. (GASP SHOCK HORROR)
Or adopt!

It's a stylized Leaf of Lorien. It's my geek tat, but it's pretty enough to pass off as just a design, haha.

I think it's funny in a sad sort of way that so many people assume the default in life is to pop out babies. I might want kids someday, but I'll probably not give birth to them. I'll adopt.

oooh, cool!! *is a geek*

It IS sad. I think the reputation given to people who are childfree is annoying (although I've met plenty of annoying childfree people) and while I think it's perfectly respectable to give birth and be a mom, whether working or stay at home (and similar for dads), it shouldn't be the default.

I'm definitely planning on adopting. Obviously planning on marrying a girl has something to do with that, but so does being the child of a child abuse case specialist. There are just so many kids who need good homes, especially older children, who don't get them because we're expected to have babies, or at least simulate it as closely as possible.

That is fabulous. I ought to get that one somewhere. I love the different designs and heraldry in LOTR.
