I composed a somewhat similar letter on Wednesday to Mr John Wells, who is in charge of both ER and my lovely West Wing since Aaron Sorkin and Tommy Schlamme (love that name) abandoned us.

*ahem*

Dear Mr John Wells,

The viewers of "The West Wing" are smart people. We do not need dramatic clangy sound effects, improbable and abrupt lightning storms, or crazy lighting to tell us when a scene is dramatic.

I'm reminded of the movie 'Behind Enemy Lines'. It's about a pilot who has to survive after getting show down. And the first twenty minutes is the pilot babbling about how he wishes he could see more action. I was near screaming 'Okay, we GET IT!'
