Woohoo! Money!

I get paid tonight! Thereby starting the next few weeks of big fat overtime checks, just as long as they don't cancel any of it. *rubs hands together in anticipation*
On the downside, the cat made a mess in the spare bedroom (which is why that room'll be locked up tight when I finally redecorate), I still have three days of work left before I get a day off, and my body thinks this is day four of work and therefore my last day and so I'm sore all over and can barely move. So, yeah, the next two days should be a real blast. *eye roll*
On the upside, I signed up for NaNo, so there's that. I already know what I'm writing and I'm hopelessly curious about what all of you are doing this year. I was going to make a good dent in one of the Books of Boggs, but that's what I've been doing for the past three years, so I think I'm going to try something different and stick with that one with the flighty tabloid-gracing socialite who becomes a superhero. That's why I had to pick up all those fashion magazines -- less for anything specific in fashion trends and more just to have designer names to throw around. And it means I get to play in pretty much the same 'verse as If It Wasn't For You Meddling Kids where a lot of famous or semi-famous people are secretly superheroes, so that should be fun. :)
In other news, fannishness ahoy!
Verdict: Okay, I guess. I think I feel a little apathetic about the show because it's not giving me plotbunnies, which is just weird. I mean, I've had commercials that give me plotbunnies, so it's an odd feeling to watch a show and just be coming up with NOTHING. And especially a show which is right up my alley, genre-wise. I mean, I like the premise -- the Brimstone steal doesn't even bother me all that much, really -- I like the lead guy, I like the family and the guy playing the Devil and the recast on Andi. I hate Sam's friends with a passion (I was wavering between funny and annoying with Sock and by the end of the second episode had fallen firmly into "annoying" territory, and I'm starting to think that other guy should not be let out of the house without a helmet on) but other than that I like it fine.
I just don't like it enough, I suppose. I mean, seriously, NO PLOTBUNNIES. I even had plotbunnies for Bionic Woman, a show I loathed like the fiery burning pits of Hell, although those were mostly ways I would have rewritten the whole damn storyline. But for this? Nothing. Huh.
Heroes
Otherwise known as, "Things I Learned From This Week's Heroes."
1. Irish gangsters are so rock stupid they think a guy would steal a shipping crate full of iPods, strip down to his pants, handcuff himself inside it, and fake amnesia just for fun.
2. If I ever spota hot emo boy HOMG!!1! a creepy stalker staring at me through my back window while I'm cutting off my protruding appendages, I'm going to pick up my dismembered toe before I run outside and take the chance that either my mom finds it first or the blood-licking dog makes a snack of it.
3. When choosing an ancient Japanese hero to model your life after, it is possible to accidentally pick the "I choose ME!" option, thereby mixing prominent figures in Asian mythology and Beverly Hills, 90210.
4. I didn't really know I wanted fic where Hiro turns out to be the thirdSummers Petrelli brother, or the porn that would lead to said theory, and yet. AND YET, MOTHERFUCKERS.
5. The frequency that shatters window glass can be reached by my voice when I am shown video of Bennet and the Haitian reuniting.
5a. This is not your cue to link to a Youtube video of said meeting.
6. Keeping Niki in some vague unseen place offscreen has to be some thinly veiled attempt to get me to miss a character I could barely stand to watch throughout all of last season. And it's working. *shudders*
