-- I'm really hoping that yesterday's shopping excursion with my mother gave her the distinct impression that what I could really use for Christmas is clothes, and lots of them. And that preferably I'd like to pick them out my own damn self. There's nothing like the time my grandmother gave my eighteen-year-old cousin a gift certificate to Old Navy and gave me a pair of ugly lacy flowered long-sleeved undershirts from, like, the clearance rack at Wal-Mart or something. Which, sadly enough, sums up my entire family's estimation of my fashion sense. I don't have nearly enough relatives who'll just give me a gift certificate to American Eagle, Old Navy or the Gap. (Although granted, considering how I can only afford to shop for my parents and Bryan, even those manage to make me feel guilty.)

-- Speaking of the big dumb dope, I bought him Guitar Hero III, although I made the mistake of getting it in front of my mother. Seriously, I do not get her complete inability to remember every year that usually the two of us just get each other exactly what we want and give each other our presents early so we have something to tide our spoiled asses over until Christmas.

-- I'm really feeling an urge to write permanently-paralyzed!Luke/Noah schmoop. Like, it's ten years down the line and everything still doesn't work, but Noah's finally started convincing Luke he's not going anywhere. You know, after three movies and two adorable adopted moppets and a big gay wedding. Also, it's possible Luke's turned into a total voyeur who likes watching Noah jerk himself off with a dildo up his ass. Or something. :)

-- I have to go to work tonight. ARRRGH.

-- I want to say I'm going to be able to NaNo in December, but it all depends on whether or not I can finally get up off my ass and find somebody (God, ANYBODY) to pay for my college classes and get my ass to a doctor to get myself all medicated up (which means getting a new ID card for my insurance because I can't find it -- did I mention I never ever go to a doctor 'cause I'm stupid?).

-- Unsurprisingly, which is probably why I don't think I've mentioned it yet, I support the writers' strike. One of the more selfish reasons I think I'm supporting it is because there's a part of me that thinks all of my TV fandoms could use the break. SPN fandom as a whole is either depressing me by nitpicking or hating on everything or pissing me off by getting het up over the stupidest crap. Heroes fandom is complaining about pretty much everything about this season, although the sad thing is that nearly all of the complaints about the writing are warrented. Hell, there's no enthusiasm in nearly any of my television fandoms, with the sole exceptions of Pushing Daisies or Luke/Noah (and that one suffers from pretty much every other storyline on ATWT sucking like a Hoover right now). I just think maybe what we all need is another summer hiatus in, like, February. It's one thing to miss new television episodes in July when it's hot out and there's other stuff to do outside, it's another to miss them in February when you're trapped in the house and don't have much else to entertain you.

-- My internet still blows. Who? You decide! And it's Saturday, so there's nothing I can do about it. Faaaabulous.

EDIT: You know, I'd do that Christmas wishlist meme everybody does every year but there's really only one thing I want for Christmas that's probably outside my budget and it's something like this -- a really nice brand-new down winter coat that's really warm but still kind of lightweight. I have a winter coat, but it's kind of big and puffy on little old me and I still feel a lot like the little brother in A Christmas Story who can't put his arms down even though I've had that coat for years now. And it's not down -- I used to have a down coat that was lighter than my fall coats and yet I was totally comfortable wearing it in February. I miss that coat, damn it. *sadface* (I'm so going to end up spending money I can't afford on that cranberry one, aren't I? *sigh* But ... but it's pretty.)
