There's a place around here that buys used computers, and I'm going to call them tomorrow and see about getting rid of my desktop. I cleared everything off of it, and the only real problems with it are that the disk drive randomly pops open and the monitor needs a little cleaning which I'll have to do tomorrow. So, hey, let's see how that goes. Maybe I'll luck out and it'll be enough to go to Cloverfield sometime before it ends up on cable. (Or, you know, I could put it towards rent. Or food. Whatever.)

I really need to go through my DVD collection and CDs and post 'em on Half.com or something one of these days. And if Bush's stupid tax breaks came in the next, uh, ten days, that would be really nice. (*headdesk*)

Also, I think I might have another idea for my Big Bang. So, what was that? Three days? Hmm. (Oh, I'll probably add another one to the list by Tuesday. I'm just that predictable.)

Cloverfield is awesome and it really should be seen on a big screen.

Heh, I'm totally on my second idea for mine too. I got about seven hundred words out of my first one though! What's your new idea?

Well, let me put it this way -- know that "Life After People" special I linked to the other day? I've been dwelling. A LOT. :) (Heh. Much like my first idea, SO MY KINK. *giggles*)

If you have an FYE in your local mall, you wouldn't have to wait. for internet transactions to go through. They buy CDs and DVDs. They can and will refuse to purchase them if they're not in their data base, but it might be worth a try.

Well, the DVDs would be worth a try, but I'm pretty sure they'd turn down the CDs. They're the Christmas presents I get from work and they cut a divot in the side or scratch through the bar codes so we can't take them to a place like that and get the money for them.

I've totally been giggling since this hit my inbox because I totally should've called that. Hey, it's always best to write what you like! :P

I'm in the middle of going through my DVD collection looking for things to sell for some quick cash, so I sympathise :(

(Hello, btw, I've read your Supernatural fic and thought it was awesome and your journal is too so I added you...)

I thought I'd read somewhere that those wouldn't be going through until June or so because some tax bill was purportedly held up by Congress?

Yeah, I know, but I'm broke and I can pretend. ;)

Agreed. Although the shaky-cam stuff gave me a bit or vertigo and nausea in a couple of scenes. That would be much reduced on small-screen.

Just a reason to buy the DVD. Not that you really need another one, but still....

Heaven forbid you might want to turn in music you don't like. They are cheap. Jeeze.

The DVDs would probably be worth a try. Some stuff you get next to nothing for--a couple of bucks, but I've had a lot more than that for box sets and more recent movies. I don't know if the website you were going to use would pay you more than that or not. I just figured the quicker the better.

I'd rather they just gave us cash for Christmas instead (Christmas bonus, anyone? HELLO?!) or at the very least gave us credit for the company store so we can pick out our own damn CDs. I don't like buying CDs for a reason -- because inevitably I only like one or two songs off them and it's not even worth having them. And when they're giving me stuff like LeeAnn Rimes, Big and Rich, and Gnarls Barkley ... yeah, NO.

Well, I've got a lot of movies where I either ended up not liking them or not watching them more than once, so I might as well sell them. And the sooner the better is my best option, because I am so very ridiculously broke right now it isn't even funny. *sigh* (And if unemployment would send me my payment for last week already that'd be really fucking nice. ARGH.)

I unloaded most of my CD and DVD collection for the same reason.

The company store would make more sense and a bonus would be more useful.

I wonder if your unemployment is getting held up by the holiday weekend.

Oh, we get a yearly bonus. In March. That REALLY helps us with Christmas expenses. *eyeroll* (When do the people in the office get their bonus? December. Hmm, I bet that's helpful. *headdesk*)

*sigh* It doesn't really matter this time around, I guess. Now, the one at the end of the month that goes towards my rent? Yeah, that'll matter.

That so sucks. The bonuses should come out at the same time. It makes you wonder how they get by with that. I work retail. so we don't even get a bonus.

It matters though. You need food and gas.
