You know why I love Phil? Because he can deliver a line like, "If it sounds easy, think again," and not DIE LAUGHING like I did.

EDIT: OMG THEY'RE TRYING TO SCARE THE CRAP OUT OF ME! I would be happy if any of these people won (but especially Nick and Don, WOO) and yet I'm freaking the fuck out.

THRILLED PHIL FAN OF EDIT: Okay, after the travesty that was Eric and Danielle winning, that was an awesome finish. And everybody chanting "Grandpa! Grandpa!" at the finish line made me tear up. Awww.

Yaaaay TK and Rachel! They were very much my favorite team.

Y'know, this is pretty much my first season watching this, and I have to admit part of that's because of your recs. I've since BitTorrented some of the previous seasons (the one with BJ and Tyler, and the one with Freddy and Kendra. I definitely want to go back and watch season 1, which I heard was terrific. Were Eric and Danielle in one of the more recent seasons?

Watching this, and the past seasons, over the past four months, has put SUCH a desire to want to run Race myself. *grin*

I adored TK and Rachel. I was hoping Nick and Don would win, and I would have been happy for Ron and Chris if only for Chris's sake, but TK and Rachel are smart, nice, clever and capable. Good for them. :)

Yeah, Eric and Danielle won TAR All-Stars last season, which ... ugh, what a travesty. They were on the BJ & Tyler season on two entirely different teams and hooked up afterwards. His team made it to the final three (you might remember him as the Frat Boy with the nipple piercings) while hers got eliminated in the fourth leg. And oh, did it show on TAR All-Stars. Not only were they annoying as all hell, but he was most if not all of the reason they succeeded. It was ridiculous to watch, particularly since all of the other teams had been together in their seasons and they hadn't been.

When the show's good, though, it's fantastic. What you really want to make sure you see is season five (for Colin's classic meltdown) and season seven (for Rob and Amber's first time on the Race -- which, scarily enough, is worth watching -- and the absolutely awesome footrace in the sixth leg).

And avoid the Family Edition if you can. Well, okay, you can watch the episode where the Gaghan family get eliminated. It's sad as all hell (they bring along their nine-year-old daughter and oh, the face she makes when Phil sends them home), but I wanted that family to adopt me after watching that episode.
