I've spent the last couple of hours posting my DVDs to Amazon. I feel like I'm back at work, checking disks for scratches and looking up numbers. Heh.

Alas, I'll only be doing it for the next two hours, as I'm supposed to go with my mother to the vet to pick up the kitten. She took him in yesterday so they could neuter him, but it turns out that the heart murmur he had when I first took him in for shots when we first got him is stll there and they're hesitant to put him under for the surgery.

All of that, and yet I'm still bored. Yawn.

Just FYI: I've been listing some CDs and books on Half.com for a few months, and I compared Amazon's policies to Half's to see if it made sense to either switch my listings over or list them both places. Amazon appears to take a much bigger chunk of the sales price than Half does, which then tends to make sellers charge higher prices for their merchandise to get a decent profit. Amazon's system is much better suited to high-volume sellers than to individuals just trying to unload some stuff they don't need anymore.

If you're listing the same stuff on Amazon and another site (i.e., Half), Amazon requires you to list your merchandise for no more than what you're charging for it on the other site, which is, of course, impractical as Amazon takes a much bigger piece of the purchase price.

Amazon has more traffic, of course, so stuff may sell faster there. I haven't listed anything on Amazon, so I can't say for sure.
