I went to see The Last Samurai today. Go, me. Very good movie, indeed. But I do have two important things to say.

1. Why do I always have a thing for the adorable archer in every freaking movie anymore? 'Cause the lead samurai's son was such Teh Yum.

2. I want a Captain Algren action figure. Please can I have one? They can't be that hard to make, right? Just get an Unshaven Drunken Gettysburg Veteran Ken doll and slap on one of Tom Cruise's outfits from the movie. Hell, they should fit ... the man is only twelve inches tall.

I didn't realise there had been such an outbreak of archery in movies recently until you said that. It's going to become a hallmark of the movies of this era - "Oh, that's so cliched. Boy meets girl. Boy plays with arrow. Boy flips hair..."
